If you're using Firefox then go to Tools>Downloads from the menu up top, and it will open the download window.

it'll say "100% complete" or something along those lines when it is fully downloaded. Depending on your browser, the download manager will svck to varying degrees.

The fact that he(?) doesn't know where things download leads me to believe that he probably doesn't use Firefox.

Anyway, I just use a downloader plugin for Firefox called Download-Them-All!.

Well most other browsers pop-up a separate window for each download, Firefox keeps them kinda hidden so it's not so surprising.

Firefox always popped up a window for me even when I was using the default downloader that comes built in.

I download things straight to my desktop for easy access.

Internet Explorer, eh Buzz? I haven't used IE since 2003, so I can't really help with IE downloads. Lemme Google it.

Did you actually start the download and pick where to save the files, or was the website just preparing the download?

Do you know what internet browser you're using? (the program you're using to visit websites)

Opera has it in a dedicated tab, Chrome keeps it on the bottom with the option for a tab, Firefox has it's own window.

Internet Explorer (pre version 9) is the only browser to have a separate window for each download, as it has no download manager. Version 9 copied Firefox's download manager :P

Looks like the OP is using IE8 or earlier: When you close the download box that appears you've effectively canceled the download. The OP will need to re-download the files if the downloads didn't complete.

From Microsoft's official help site:

When you download files, Windows usually saves them in the Downloads folder which is located under your user name in the users folder on the drive where Windows is installed (for example C:\users\your name\downloads).

Ok, no offense but I can barely make out what you are trying to say, so to streamline the process:

1. What Operating System are you using? (XP, Vista, 7, etc)

2. What browser are you using?

3. What version of the browser are you using?

4. Have you checked the default save location for downloads?

If you don't know what any of the above is, press the prt scrn key on your keyboard while open to this page, open Microsoft Paint, Paste (Edit-> Paste), save the file to your desktop, and upload it http://tinypic.com/ and post the direct link to the image.

Click on your username in the start menu, then click on the downloads folder. If you don't see the download in there, you failed to download the file.

I suggest either

1. Upgrading to http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/products/ie/home

2. Using a different browser like http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/ or http://www.google.com/chrome/intl/en/make/download.html?brand=CHKZ

As then you'll have a download manager. (personal suggestion is going for option #2)

Then you can't get Internet Explorer 9, so your options are Google Chrome or Firefox.

To see if you have it already downloaded click the start menu and then click "My Documents" then open the "Downloads" folder. If it's not in there, http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/, and try re-downloading the demo with Firefox.
