Hermes armour

Post » Mon Apr 04, 2011 1:26 pm

If you brighten the Desert armour as seen on the cover of the game and in trailers you can read the following digits H3RM35 on the antenna

do you think it is possibly this: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Hermes

(you can see it written on the antenna in this pic http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100331012938/fallout/images/thumb/7/77/FNV_NCR_wallpaper.jpg/1387px-FNV_NCR_wallpaper.jpg )

It would be awesome if this Hermes armour was in the game:

Edit: Just noticed that's the same pic as my avatar.

Wow, good catch. It seems pretty likely that would be the case.

Pretty cool very nice catch indeed :tops:
I don't think its going to be called Hermes armor anymore, but perhaps these are the prototypes and are used by the rangers?

Great eyes!

At the very least the antenna is related... Perhaps the armor has evolved differently than originally conceived, but the communications array is still being used? Piece-meal armor?

Actually, that would make a lot of sense, because then the "Ranger" armor would be that brown, football pad like enhanced combat armor that we've seen in that magazine, and this armor would be Hermes armor.
Both could be worn by rangers, and both would technically be "ranger" armor, but the Hermes armor would be superior.

OR, maybe it's just a reference. Time will tell.

Wow...That was an amazing catch. You either have very good eyesight, or a terrible, terrible, social life. Hopefully this means we'll see some new ATHENA power armor too. Poseidon has facilities in New Vegas, so it's possible.

mmmmm...... prewar advanced armor even for its time coppled together by wasteland engineering(banging rocks together), I like this.

It really would not surprise me if it was included in the game. It's really a shame that Van Buren's FO3 got canceled, im sure it would have been great (I really could never wrap my head around FO:Tactics though).

I'd say its certainly a deliberate reference if nothing else, but it probably is the armor.

Then the armor is actually designated H3RM35, and called Hermes as an official codename or perhaps a nickname?

wow very interesting find, hopefully we will be seeing the hermes armor through out the game and not just one suit. I took it, it was only unlockable after

completing a quest for boone.

It definitely appeals to me, i would like something visually less massive than power suits.

Yes it would be awsome and throw in some more of those Van Buren things that we've been seeing. I remeber josh saying that posideon energy will show up in the game with the archidemese so why not hermes too? Greek gods are fun.

Nice find.

I always thought the desert armour looked like some kind of lightweight PA, so it actually makes perfect sense as being the Hermes armour.

And remember that the trenchcoat obscures much of the armour so maybe it is Hermes armour, just with a little extra awesome.

Well I think the reference is purposely obvious... I mean H3RM35 is HERMES; that much we see... But as to it's code name or official name, we will have to wait.

(This might just be thing the artist decided to do...)

Do you think we'll be able to get the exact armor the NCR Ranger has on http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/File:FNV_NCR_wallpaper.jpg

I've been hoping for a long time that the Athena power armor would show up. Because of the presence of Poseidon, as well as what appears to be Hermes armor, I can only hope ...
