Okay, in most fps games that provides medics who revive others, are often running straight by you while your down awaiting for a medic.
Now, I'm not saying this does happen all the time, I just tend to get mad when your obviously out right infront of an ally when theres no1 around to shot him or you down, then just run right by you when you would expect someone to help you.

Does anyone besides me get ticked off at that? Or would anyone like to discuss this?

I don't have that problem. I'm usually a medic and I revive when I can. I mean, I'm not going to try to heal you when theres an enemy tank 5ft away but I'll clear out 2-4 guys to save you. ^_^

Having played Medic for as long as I have, I cringe at all the piss poor medics I encounter.

I mean I understand that, it's just when theres no1 around to kill you or the medic and they just leave you to die... :confused:

You won't see that too much in Brink, I think. Only because you gain EXP for doing actions that help other players (like reviving), which they can use towards character and weapon upgrades.

I think Splash Damage should just make it so when you play, you have no clip and no recharge delay on revives. Only way you are getting more epic.

You gain XP for doing it in MAG and they run right on by all the time. You're going to see it in any game with medics, and you're going to see it in Brink because Brink has limited how much healing the medic can do within a time frame.

Player A is going to run right past Player B and rev Player C because player C is his friend.

If Player B decides to then be annoying about how he wasn't revived Player B will likely get shot and certainly not revived the next time.

It's a vicious cycle, but you've got to be ready to accept it because unless you've got the benefit of your own medic (who's just as likely to ignore the other guys) you're going to have to hope that a decent medic is around.

This. Also note that the medic might not have his revive ability off of cooldown, so even if he wanted to revive you, he couldn't.

I see this a lot in Bad Company 2 for one reason: it's too hard to tell where your dead teammates are because the maps are so huge. If I recall correctly, BRINK will solve this by marking out someone who is incapacitated for you.

I doubt the medics'll be selfish in Brink, it's not like they need to put themselves at risk and crouch at your body to revive you, they just need to glance at you and press a button.

Ok, I guess I got the wrong idea. I guess you can help other players as best as you can, and hope they are people of half-decent moral and return the favor :\

Only the bad medics. Don't worry, there are a few medics who are actually good. Just like there are only a few Operatives who will be good. :wink:

If it was me, I would revive my teammates as often as possible. And if my revive had to cooldown, I would defend them until the cooldown is over like a true war hero :gun:

Yeah, but we all know you're going to be following Wraith around and since it would be silly to expect Wraith near his team it would be silly to expect you near the team as well. :hehe:

Then perhaps you would make a good medic.

It's the same situation with the way people view "snipers" and "Operatives" in that it isn't the class that is the problem, it's the people playing the class for such and such a reason. A good Medic, Sniper, or Op is a great asset, just like a bad Medic, Sniper, or Op is a really frustrating player to have around.

To the comment that In BFBC2 the medics svck because that can't find people, they are marked as heartbeat signs on your mini map.
But back to the topic of poor medics, my only experience with a FPS with a medic class would be BFBC2, i enjoy playing medic but other people do it just for the LMG. for example last night myself (medic) and two other medics where putting fire on an enemy objective (coms relay) from a semi-fortified position, (the crest of a hill) and whenever one of us got killed i was the only one who revived any of us, and when i ran through the cross fire of a mortar strike and two HMGs shooting at me to revive someone across a kill-zone, they where standing with the dying body of an engineer at their feet, i hate bad medics

They're still slightly hard to see (especially in white environments like Port Valdez), and by the time you reach the dead in question they might have already respawned.

As for the LMG thing, it's a good thing guns aren't class specific anymore.

I'm hoping there will be more then a "few" good of all the classes. And with Brink's objective based gameplay that rewards classes for doing their jobs I'm pretty sure you're going to find a large portion of players doing their job relatively well. The Medic and Assault classes will probably have the largest ratio of good players just because their jobs reward them for doing relatively simple tasks that really only require them to stick with their squad mates to perform.

Naturally Engineers will be a little harder because they require more tactical thinking as far as mine and turret placement goes, but their ability to buff weapon damage is another one of those really simple tasks anyone can do and be good at.

Operatives will probably be one of the harder jobs to do, and I'm actually guessing it will reward players with the least points because there will be more times where they are just trying to sneak around without being noticed. Just my two cents...

yea on mag i h8 how it says that your down and you get the exp for a kill x4 and people wont do it. on mag i would always revive mi friends first. btw no more lightweights please the game is supposed to be diffrent. every heavie gets a medal.

There's a mixture of everything on this forum, plus you even get Heavy before you get Light. The Lights want to be Lights, and most of them on this forum will be good at being them. Also, the game will still be different if everyone was a Light.

I was a damn good medic in Bad Company 2. It was a rewarding class to play, since you really don't get thanked too often for hiding on a building across the map with a sniper rifle. Plus the XP gains were absolutely massive if you did enough revives. I never passed up a teammate, not even when I had to sprint across the street in the ~4 second tank reload. I like playing medic, and I'll definitely play it in Brink.
