The Elder Scrolls planet is supposed to be called Nirn however the Talos preacher outside of jjorvaskarr clearly refers to the planet as earth.....

I think I remember a discussion about this a long while back. I don't remember what conclusion we eventually came to on this nonsense.

Probably something about how they're dumbing the game down for casuals and console users. Seems to be the answer for everything around here.

earth is how we say when refering to the all of the planet we live on, Earth is the name of our planet (actually i think it's Terra, but it's translated to Earth in english)

Ahahaha

That's funny, because it's true. Morrowind was the best, this game needs spears, and Skyrim was dumbed down aiming towards casual gamers. Basically the answers to everything from the all-knowing TES people.

Im pretty sure that if Morrowind had been released this year with up to date graphics it would likely have flopped for being to 'slow'.

This is the Modern Warfare age of gaming and beth has to adhere to not only what the fans want but what the investors want as well, and the investors want Modern Warfare Black Ops Halo 20 or 25 or wherever they are at now.

However I feel as though Skyrims step towards a more action/brawler type of gameplay was a smart move. My 2 cents anyways.

indeed they did also that is why this game is so highly moddable
witjh 80+ mods not counting all the armour and clothing mods rgis game has become something that last forever for the dedicated PC users/tes fan , and probably done on purpose
no disrespect intended to the many console users but you haven't played skyrim untill you played it modded on a pc

Oh my gosh.. inevitable improvement on combat is not moving into an action/brawler direction.

Anyways, he didn't refer to Nirn as Earth so there's no problem there.

Had posted on that thread. Could be an oversight, or left deliberately like this to avoid confusions.

However, I'm sure most people with reason in their minds instead of hay, would understand that Nirn is the planet, TES V takes place. All you need after all, is to look at the night sky. Earth doesn't have two moons in orbit.

Hate to being off-topic, but ...

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Differences_Between_Morrowind,_Oblivion,_and_Skyrim.The causal boom from financial and cultural viewpoint is hardly deniable too. So ... ?

Oh, and it's the opposite: that's not funny, because iit [dumbing down] is true.

Basically the answers to everything from the all-knowing TES people.

Not all-knowing TES people, but who expected an RPG which worthy of its precedessors.

This. Glad somebody recognized that, although I don't remember crystal clear what exactly the preacher saying, this is a very likely explanation.

Good lord.... What is with you people taking jokes so seriously around here lately?...

It's not a secret that as the gaming market rises and opens to wider audiences developers create their games, including sequels, in hopes of satisfying their previously earned fans as well as gaining new ones. I'm know this as I'm a long time fan of Elder Scrolls. You don't need to bother linking junk I won't click on to prove a point I'm aware of. Would you like to argue whether I was right in saying fans of previous installments often state their interest in wanting spears back in the game too?
