Mother of God. 3 GB? I didn't even notice. I guess Steam is good for something, after all, b/c I downloaded through the store thingie and it didn't take as long as I think it would have taken from various other sites.

yes steam.. provided you have a good connection to the steam server..... quite often steam has never failed to diliver everything VERY fast...

It sure does delivery fast. The 3GB texture pack downloaded in 20 mins for me with just a broadband cable connection.

I want your Internet, it took me ~15 hours to download...

Anyways, just to note: Steam is a common victim of throttling by ISPs for anyone else coming to this thread and wondering about download time.

Is it uploaded somewhere else besides steam, maybe like a rar file with the fixes all added to it? i cant really download it from steam at this pc

That's odd, b/c I had seen it on other sites... I don't recall which ones, but it was there. Of course, who knows if it was a safe/real DL. I just thought of getting it from Steam as an afterthought - figured they may as well make themselves useful for my troubles.

The other sites aren't hosting it legally, then. You're not legally allowed to distribute the game assets without explicit permission
