Hircine? where did your brutal demon voice and appearance go

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 5:15 pm

So here I was looking foreward to a great return and an awesome quest from Hircine in skyrim. And what I get is a sissy voice and a copy paste ghost apperition of him(a regular ghost). This is so sad, Hircine was by far the most brutal and awesome boss in the elder scrolls series when he fought the nerevarine back in solstheim. He had the most scary voice I have ever heard in my life, he looked like a savage demon and we could aid him as his hound for a big part of the mainquest in Bloodmoon. Whoever created the quest and designed him in Skyrim did a lousy jobb, same goes for the voiceactor. I really like skyrim, but this part really upsets me. After I had done the quest I felt no joy, it was so poorly done and my meeting with the great hunter was a huuuge letdown. I really hope bethesda would add him and do him justice in a future DLC cause it was not Hircine I spoke to in Skyrim, I refuse to belive that.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gYPsyPfYQQ some cutscenes with Hircine from Bloodmoon(only if you play as a werewolf you get these)

Is there a problem? He never reveals to you a form of himself, always appears as someone else. First the white stag, and then Sinding. What is your problem?

yeaaah I belive you have not played bloodmoon att all ;) why? in Bloodmoon you could run allot faster, you could jump much higher, you could see your stats as werewolf, you could hunt in first person and see your claws infront of you, you got a better vision. And yet you say removing nearly every aspect of this in skyrim is okay? You could also use hircines ring when you wanted to, you didn't have the same stupid timelimit we have in skyrim. So yeah. Well god thing you enjoy skyrim atleast ;) I do to belive it or not, it has many great aspects and I really like it, but it has many flaws aswell

If you had read my post that is the problem -__- In bloodmoon he showed his true form, in skyrim he is just a coward taking the form of others, why do you even care? If you haven't played bloodmoon then don't bother to post here.

Do you actually encounter any of the Daedra in their full on scary forms in Skyrim? I thought that they were all pretty much limited to agents, avatars and apparitions since Oblivion?

I loved him in Skyrim. Very much captured the theme behind him, which is the spirit of the hunt and the archetype of the Huntsman, not some demon.

You see Sanguine in his true form, which isn't exactly scary, since he is a harmless, hardcoe party-er

Maybe, Hircine didn't feel like manifesting himself at the time.

I think you should take this up with HR. The Bethesda contact information can be found on the website. I believe you should ask for Todd Howard, and you can inform him of your inquiries.

Lushon, I do miss the first person werewolf thing and I can understand you're upset that hiricine isn't in his true form but as some people have already noted, After the oblivion incident he wouldn't show his true form for the fact that people aren't very fond of daedra and stuff. I really miss his voice giving me goosebumps every time he randomly speaks with me but it's something to expect. To be honest I wasn't even expecting him making an appearance. I do think that they've made the werewolf system a bit more logical with the once a day thing though, even if it is a little under-powered (I can kill a giant easily in human form but werewolf form is becoming more of a curse to me if I miss a power-strike).

I prefer Morrowind's daedric echo and whisper. I didn't mind Hircine's voice in Skyrim, but it's not nearly as awesome as it used to be. Not to mention the very, very sad removal of first person mode in werewolf form. :(
