wait for the patch to be released, becuase it is supposed to fix a lot of stuff, like the dlc glitch, so if that doesn't fix your problems then trade it in

The "people's Xbox's dying" thing happens with pretty much every game, people try and blame it. The fact is you've got people playing a game for 8 hours a day or more on hardware that's known to brick if you cough on it, and playing a fairly resource intensive game. I'm sure people also reported RROD's with Fable III, etc. Once it's the Xbox's time, it's time, has fairly little to do with the game. It's not like there's an Xbox breaking glitch in the game. I'm sure the freezing isn't GOOD for it, but yeah, I would highly doubt anyone can really prove it was this game that broke their Xbox. It's like saying "It was raining yesterday when I asked that girl out and she said no, so it was probably because of the rain". It's most likely unrelated.

yeah every once in a while you should get out and do something with your life. playing 360 ten hours here, eight there without much rest will break it. its common sense.....

happened to my xbox first after I found the vertibird I get the disc read error , then I tried it on my sons xbox and same thing after an hour it got disc read error . Enough proof for me to blame the game.

Their is lots of ppl on this form and others when they just bought thier xbox with fall out new vegas. Played for and hour or 2 and RROD. WHY ... because their is lots of freezing in fallout nv so if you keep restarting you xbox, its doing a hard reboot. If you keep doing it pretty sure your motherboard or hard drive will get shot and it will show up as RROD. My opinion WAIT TILL THEY RELEASE PATCH

Actually I've found that nearly all of Bethesda's games on 360 kill xbox's. Oblivion took out 3 of mine (2 brand new), FO3 took out another 2 (Mine & my mates), & F:NV has taken out 1. Just to be clear, those were the only games played on those 360s. I'm not saying there bad games, instead I'm saying the opposite, the games are that good that they blew the 360s out of sheer awesomeness (No that isn't sarcasm). Don't trade the game in, if you're 360 die's then you can send it in to be fixed or even get a newer model instead.

So if I get the RROD because I have to do a hard reboot literally every 5-10 minutes, due to FO:NV locking up, that's totally unrelated?? Your logic is flawed. When NV worked, I only played 2-3 hours at a time, and besides that, not one of my other games have ever locked up. But go ahead and keep sticking up for the makers of this game and all the things that ARE wrong with it.

I returned the game as soon as I knew the game was broken good thing I bought it used. But in the meantime I will be playing other games that actually work while waiting for this patch.

Sorry, you're telling me that there's "lots" of people (2? 200? 5 million? I've yet to see even 1 of these threads) that purchased a brand new Xbox, and within TWO (2) hours of playing, their Xbox died? That sounds like it was defective out of the box and would have died no matter what game they were playing. How "new" was it? Was it a slim? The slims apparently aren't supposed to ever RROD (or it's far more unlikely).

All I can tell you is that my system has frozen maybe 8 times in 170 hours of play between two people. It sounds more like the Xbox is on it's way out, compounded by the fact that, yes, New Vegas is a harsh game on the resources and there's some bugs that appear to be causing freezing (for some, not all users). But go ahead and keep pretending you're the center of the universe and if something is happening to you, it must be happening to everyone else.

If you're not smart enough to stop playing a game that's apparently freezing your system every "5 - 10 minutes", and you're constantly hard rebooting, then who's fault is that when your Xbox dies? You played for 2 - 3 hours at a time, rebooting every 5-10 minutes? So you're hard rebooting 12 - 18 times a play session? Stop. Return the game, or get your Xbox serviced. I don't see how the patch is going to fix that problem when some people are able to play it just fine for hours.

Firstly, my xbox never had the RROD, I was speaking hypothetically. If I did get the RROD I would blame NV, to bring this back to the OP. Anyway, I've had my Xbox ever since Halo 3 came out. I'm sure I've logged WELL over 170 hours of play. Besides while playing NV, I don't remember it freezing more than 5-10 times total. Most of those freezes were probably while playing FO3. You need to read my post a little closer and realize I never said I played New Vegas for 2-3 hours while it was freezing. I said while it was working, because you had mentioned people play for 8+ hours at a time. Once the problem started, after 35 hours of 'problem free' game play, I didn't want to believe there was a serious issue so I tried and tried again. But only to have it freeze 5-10 minutes after a hard reboot and reloading the most recent save. (I probably had to do 10 hard reboots total before I gave up) After it all started, I cleared the cache and downloaded the game to the HDD, but the problem persisted. I haven't played FO:NV for over 3 weeks now, praying the patch fixes my freezing issue. I am now playing Black Ops for hours and hours with ZERO issues. Can you explain all this?

Unlucky I guess. Do you think I'm making up the fact that after a combined 160 or 170 or whatever I said hours of play, I've not seen my game freeze more than 8 times? GTA 4 froze on me a couple times, Fallout 3 froze on me about 5 or 6 times, Saints Row froze once or twice... these are all sandbox games. Black Ops is not a sandbox game, so the testing would have been a lot easier (20 testers all doing pretty much the same thing to get to the goal with a few variations vs 20 testers all trying to figure out 40 ways to do the same quests with 6-10 quests already on the go incomplete).

I don't know why you all seem to think I'm making excuses for Bethesda, I know the trend around here is to not read other topics and just create your own, but I've said before there's no excuse for bringing out a broken game. THAT SAID... If a million people were all experiencing the DLC issue, there'd be a lot more problems. As for the rest of the glitches, I've never denied that they aren't happening for some people. People need to be realistic. Just because it's happening to you, that doesn't make you the majority. And as one poster who's far more familiar with hardware than anyone else who's spoken mentioned in another thread, there's about 3 - 5 different variations of processors/etc that Microsoft has used, that all has to be taken into consideration as well... who knows, there could be a link there with some glitches (namely freezing ones).

You can blame whatever you want on your RROD, but I've played games that froze more often than this game has (for me) on other consoles/PC that didn't destroy that hardware. At the end of the day you need to blame Microsoft for that. Forza Motorsport 2 was an unplayable game for me (it froze 5 times in 2 hours before I said I'm not playing this anymore), but I wasn't on message boards complaining that the developers owed everyone free DLC and an apology and their first born sons and that a patch should be rushed out to fix everything for me right now because I'm the center of the universe and entitled to everything. The point I've tried to make this whole time is that they're working on it, it wasn't a conspiracy to steal your money and laugh in your face, they're doing their best to make good... be patient. And no, this game is not "breaking lots of people's new xboxs" to paraphrase one poster (far better than I've been paraphrased).
