I'll never forget when I was north of Whiterun in a storm front, the snow started falling hard. It was the first time I had seen it snow in Skyrim and it was breathtaking. The beauty soon was taken back by a giant frostbite spider, he came out of the woods and I had just moments to set up my bow for the kill, I struck him thinking he'd go down, he was the first frostbite spider I had seen and to my surprise the arrow didn't do hardly any damage. The spider got the better of me a few times until finally I got the best of him. Soon after I ran into a mammoth and a giant, both were one heck of a fight. I kept on my journey and sooner then I'd like my first unscripted dragon appeared, this is where I learned that dragon fire had tracking abilities, it was cutting corners and managing to get around huge clusters of rocks. After 10 minutes and tedious strikes with my sword and ranged attacks from my bow I finally got him down.
I decided after those four enemies maybe I'd stay in and around Whiterun and level up before I ever made the mistake of wandering off again, solitude would have to wait. On my way home I found a clearing and looked up, what I saw was my favorite part of Skyrim, the lights. Flickering a blue/green I was in awe. At that point I knew I was addicted, flaws and all.
I went back to that area much later in the game and fought some of those enemies on master. This is where I learned smithing with enchanting makes you a tank.
