Today started out like any other day. I awoke in this disgrace of a bed in McCarren with the usual stench of foul body order and radiation in the air. I stumbled to my dresser, which really is just a broken wooden box i found in the waste, and geared up. As i walked outside into the blinding sun, i saw that the rest of my team was already started in a training exercise. Now realizing i have slept in I rushed over to the drill Sargent knowing my punishment wont be as pleasant as a fresh Nuca-cola. Upon my arrival the Drill Sargent immediately took notice of my lateness. He stared at me for a couple seconds almost as if he was peering into my soul, devouring it in his unforgiving eyes. Curse words and a voice as terrifying as the sound of a deathclaw growl filled the air. I looked over at my team who have not strayed from their exercise, i don't blame them either. They knew that getting on the bad side of this guy was a bad idea. He soon assigned me the treacherous task of running the perimeter of the airfield 2 times and completing the obstacle course 5 times....
After finally completing my task i was allowed to join my team in our daily exercises. These included target practice, spotting. Things you'd expect and advance and deadly team as ourselves to do. As we were nearing the ending of our exercises an NCR messenger rushed up to our assigned Squad Leader and gave him a piece of paper. Our SL was a respectable person, always calm, almost emotionless. He always seemed to know what to do in any situation. He simply looked at the piece of paper, looked up at us and said "Alright boys, were being deployed to an area around Ranger Station Bravo! Our rangers have tracked enemy movements in the area and discovered a large Great Khan stronghold. Move out!".
As we trekked across this wasteland i couldn't help but imagine myself in the old world....before the bombs fell. I pushed them out of my head, dreams of a better life in this god forsaken land will only bring death. We finally reach our destination and set up camp. It wasn't till now that our SL told us the full orders. Apparently there was sizable company of troopers that will push the front of the Great Khan stronghold while we covered the only exit of the stronghold to make sure they can not escape. Simple enough.
*In the background* Would you turn that dam thing off! I'm trying to get some sleep over here!
