Honestly, I agree about the green haze in Fallout 3, that really annoyed me. It really didn't enhance the atmosphere of the game, it just made the whole thing look faker and uglier, but that's why I'm glad that the community made a mod to fix it (And yes, I consider removing that a fix, not a change. Maybe if you're going for stylized graphics, you can get get away with weird tints to the in-game lighting, but when you try to go for a realistic style with your graphic designs in the gam, as Fallout 3 did, I want normal colors, not weird coloration choices that mess up the whole look.) Of course, New Vegas has a bit of an orange look to it now, and I'm using a mod to change that, but even without such a mod, I'd still say that the orange tint looks better than the green of Fallout 3. Though probably this should be in the Fallout 3 forums rather than the New Vegas ones, since the point of it is to criticize the green tint of Fallout 3.
Never mind, just remembered I bought a new xbox so for me to check it out I'd have to play through the ENTIRE tutorial crap.
Honestly Bethesda, that was the worst piece of [censored] ever. <_<
NEVER force players to sit through a 20 minute tutorial.
Should always allow us to skip it if we want to.
I have to agree with that, I'm fine with long, in game tutorials, as long as the option exists to skip them. I mean, sure, the parts in the vault do play an important part in setting up the main quest of the game, but that's something Bethesda could have taken into account BEFORE designing a tutorial that revolves around them, they could have instead made a tutorial that isn't vital to the plot. Besides, when I want to ship the tutorial it's generally when I play through the game again after my first playthrough, and by then, I'll already be familiar with what happens in the vault, besides, I don't see why they couldn't have just given you a message if you skip the tutorial summing up the events that you missed out on, and make it clear that it's recommended that player's go through the tutorial at least once in the game.
Of course, they did it in Oblivion too, so you think they'd have learned that players want to be able to skip the half hour long tutorial at the start of the game after that.
and why dont you have a save somewhere?
One shouldn't have to "skip" the tutorial by making a save before ending it, letting you skip the tutorial is an option the game should provide at the start.
Besides, since I usually end up installing a lot of mods when playing Bethesda games, and sometimes change the mods I'm using between playthroughs, I don't want to add or remove any major mods after starting a save for fear that it might cause problems, so I generally WANT to be able to start a new game instead of restarting from an old save but recreating my character when I get the chance.
