The title says it all. I have less than 75 pounds equipment, and lost my two companions. Still Jed won't let me get through the quest, and says I have to get rid of my companions. Any solutions?

Did you tell them to stay outside the cave or did you send them back to the Lucky 38? because you have to send them back to the Lucky 38

you can go to vault 22 use the Elevator go to the 5th floor and your followers should come to you no matter what or you can wait 3 in game days and then they go home not too sure about the last one
