Honest Hearts ED-E Patch

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 10:03 am

Like you probably already know a lot of people are heaving trouble with starting HH because they have to remove their companions and ED-E Glitches out of the game making that impossible.
I really hope bethesda that you release a patch that just forces your companions out of your party at the beginning of HH.
Really how hard is it to just make this small little patch. Because i feel really sorry for me and all the people that have this problem that they payed 800 microsoft points basically for nothing now.
And it is just a small adjustment that needs to be done.
Does that really have to take weeks or maybe months.
I hope that you can fix this soon.
Thanks

I agree, all they need to do is have HH start with kicking all the members of your party out. They already have this feature at certain points in the game, it shouldn't need to be a huge update.

I also can't start HH because it thinks ED-E is in my party . . .

Unfortunately, if you are having trouble with this companion message, you'll need to revert to an earlier save prior to when the companion actually left in order to play Honest Hearts.

So poor that we have to do such. Sadly when i get into a straight gaming mode i do not save unless i am done. Like my last post i loaded from were i was went that got all my files corrupted so ; /. Wish you could solve this problem instead of making us go back a bit?. No when you tell them to leave. they should leave. Fix it. Throw up mini-patches if you must.

I have been only rotating 10 save games because the fallout save games are rather large.

If I had saved every save game this would be over 511 save games. Each save game is 9 megs, so this would be something like 4.5 gigabytes of save games, which is something like 25% of the smallest xbox hard drive, just on the save games. This wouldn't include each of the dlc's, as well as installing the game itself. Furthermore, I'm not done with FNV itself, and there are future dlc's, it is really not viable to keep every save game. I have gigs and gigs of space taken up by the FO3 save games, and it seems that the only way to get rid of them is one by one . . .

I really hope this patch comes out soon, I already bought the game. I bought all 5 expansions for fallout 3, was planning on buying all expansions for FNV, but there will be no point if my character can't even play them . . .

All i can tell you is go ahead an try it out. You already know the problems before hand but as you can see only a select few are really getting the problems. Just do not do HH with ed-e at all in party or Rex. An just do not speak with the Chick. Which is odd because she never gave me a problem but later in the game i had a problem in which corrupted my files. So best make backup as well if you can of course. FNV dlc is very fun if not challenging at some parts (Dead-Fing Money).

Well I did try. I bought the game at like 6:30am the day it came out before I went to work. When I came home, I learned that I could not play the game. I went back to my oldest save but ED-E is glitched in this save too. Once he gets glitched it seems, you are stuck with him forever. I can't even return the dlc if I wanted to

Hm. You sure he is truly glitched. Your best bet is to go a whole week then go to prim to see if he is there. If not go die somewhere to see if he pops up then. Try those then get back to tell me what happend :D

I have already tried

- vault 22 elevator
- wait 2 in game weeks
- nash residence
- he is not on my map
- lucky 38
- elevator to penthouse (hoping victor would kick him out of my party)
- played DM all the way through, then lost ede, so can't try DM trick
- bringing rex into my party (game says ede is present, and can't have him at the same time)
- Checking Bloodborne Caves
- Checking the towers of hoover dam
- taking the elevator in hoover dam to the offices
- deleting the game update and redownloading it
- deleting expansions and redownloading them

I don't know exactly when he disappeared. One day I realized he was gone and that the game thought he was still in my party. I looked at all my saves, and he was glitched out in my oldest save.

Alot of the problems there its not a Glitch. Somewhat. For example i had Boone well i went thru the bad area (Lots & Lots of Deathclaws. Just exploring) Forget all about him fighting as i was just looking around. He was Spawned camped there. Even when i went into buildings or tryed to get him back he was being camped ; /.

Well ED-E Is glitched out of the game on all of my saves.
I have around 140 hours of gameplay on my character and i don't really feel like doing it all over to play a dlc.
Isn't it strange that we also buy a DLC for 800 microsoft points and also have to do all this weird stuff like starting all over or loading an old save to get it working?
I really hope bethesda that you could give us a mini update by this weekend so that we can finally enjoy the DLC.

Wait..... did I just misread what the support person said? Instead of a patch, we have to resort to jerry-rigging techniques to get a game to work? IE reloading saves that may or may not be there.

I cannot even get the game to START, because it won't get past Loading downloadable content. Please wait. Apparently, I have too much DLC. Awefull programming and forethought on that by these designers. Putting a hard limit on DLC ? my goodness.

The new patch will provide a way to force your companions to leave your party, thus allowing anyone still encountering the EDE bug to start up Honest Hearts without reverting to a new save or starting a new character. More info on that patch to come.
