Honest Hearts Won't Start on PS3

Post » Wed May 18, 2011 11:57 pm

I have Fallout New Vegas for the PS3. I downloaded and installed Honest Hearts. It seems that the level cap has been raised, but I get no other indication that the game is installed. No radio message or map marker or quest is activated. I have waited for hours, nothing. I downloaded and installed the game again, but it made no difference.

The cave is blocked by fallen rocks, and there is no radio signal.

Something tells me someone screwed up again...

*hugs Steam*

In all seriousness, though, I feel for you PS3 guys. You've already had to wait long enough as it is

I don't know what patch you're talking about. You know this is a PS3 forum, right?

-This is a thread, not a forum.
-The patch he is referring to is the most recent one for F:NV. (The one with weapons/ammo fixes)

You're right, but the thread is called 'honest hearts won't start on PS3'. In any case, likely this would be the same update that is pushed to PS3 users, no? There's no way to back out of that on a PS3, is there?

actually, now that you mention it, Dead Money is gone as well. So nice. What a nice thing. If these weren't the best games I'd ever played... ;)

So how does one contact Bethesda directlly? Clearly they have to either fix this or give me my money back. I tried to send them a message through their site, but it fails every time with a 'page not found'.

For the people who are having problems getting Dead Money and HH starting you have to delete the Fallout: New Vegas Game Data, NOT your Saved Data. When you start up New Vegas DO NOT LET THE GAME PATCH! Just play the DLC unpatched. If you create a save within the DLC, don't think you can now safely patch the game, DO NOT! I did this with Dead Money and the game screwed up. I spawn in the Mojave Desert with all of my stuff gone and holding a invisible gun. When you are done with the DLC and want to play the main game, then you can patch New Vegas... BETHESDA YOU NEED TO FIX THIS!!!!

If you downloaded Dead Money, go to your history. If you didn't own it yet, use the search option. It's still there, just not on display. The patch gives problems usually for two reasons.

1). You have another country's DLC installed on your Playstation for New Vegas, i.e. a French (Canadian) DLC file on an American Game. Delete anything that isn't your region.
2). The patch can conflict with DLC in terms of priority in the game. It wants to be first, before DLC. To fix that, delete ALL game data (But not your saves!) including the install and DLC data. Reinstall the game and download the patch(es) on startup. THEN reinstall all DLC. That should fix it.

I had the same problem. I could not play any of my DLC. I now have it working. Here is what I did.

1. Delete all your Fallout: New Vegas 'Game data' under 'Game Data Utility'. DO NOT DELETE YOUR SAVED GAMES!

2. Download and install only Honest Hearts

3. Run you New Vegas disc and allow the game to download and install patch 1.05

4. Then let the game install.

You should then be able to load your last save and have you Honest Hearts DLC work just fine. it did for me.

Actually, all you have to do is delete the Classic Pack DLC.

You may have to start over.

I have the patch and everything works fine. When I started my character over for unrelated reasons, all the DLCs loaded up immediately. Perhaps in the update something got bugged with your character/save file? Happened to me (hardcoe mode stopped working). Just sayin'....

Hmm... this sounds reasonable. When I entered in my voucher for the Classic Pack, I got 2 downloads, one American and one French. I suppose if someone were to not savor the moment like me, they could accidentally download a different country's DLC, which would then conflict with the BLUS and not be registered by the game. Well done.

As I understood it the previous patch for some players disabled the DLC. Which meant you had to delete your game and DLC data and reinstall it all. A major problem as PSN was down at the time.In my case the DLC remained active so this wasn't a universal issue. I was also able to download, install and play Honest Hearts without a problem.

The heavy traffic is bogging PSN down, try using the search function. I knew the warhorse DLC was available for Red Dead Redemption.(released before PSN went down). But I had to do a search for it because it wasn't showig up due to PSN's traffic lag.

How could Bethesda skrew up this badly, this is there 7th Fallout DLC in total (including Fallout 3). 1st PSN is down for a month now i have to deal with trying to get my DLC for Honest Hearts to work, ive heared nothing but good reviews for it, but right now kinda feel like i may have wasted 10 bucks... yea i know it's not much but i could have used it on something else. I'l probly end up getting the game of the year edition with it all on there anyways just like i did with Fallout 3 but still i payed for it, I really wanted to play it. I also noticed all of my itmes from Dead Money are gone all my gold bars, weapons (still got the spears though?), and clothing, wich svcks. The assissns armor ( i believe thats what it was called (its been awile been playin black ops and resident evil 5 a lot)) was my favorite. If and when they get this figured out and fixed i better get all my stuff back.
