I hope NV doesn't become a Tactic

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 2:03 pm

I don't know how Fallout: Tactics got all those inconsistencies in the first place. I just hope NV is part of the official Fallout universe. Hopefully NV clears up some of the disparencies that exists.

Fallout: New Vegas is considered to be fully canon.

It will be canon. And much of Tactics (those parts that does not contradict canon that is) can be considered canon in my opinion.

Didn't we already have a topic like this? Regardless :

1) Obsidian has some developers that worked on Fallout 1 and 2 on board, not to mention that one of the founders of the company (who is, incidentally, also working on the game) was the man in charge of the Fallout Bible. They know their Fallout.

2) Bethesda is working with them for checking consistency, continuity (Fallout is their baby now after all) and matters like that.

So the chances of the game being retroactively made non-canon for inconsistencies are rather slim.

What are you worried about exactly, Eddo?

Just was worried that NV won't be part of the official Universe. I played Fallout 1 and 2 and started playing Tactics today but uninstalled it when I realized it wasn't canon.

Well Tactics is canon in it's premise; Western Brotherhood exiles dissendents, dissendents leave via airship and get kicked in the balls by Murphy halfway through their trip, establish a new Brotherhood, kick robot ass, ect. They're even mentioned by scribes in the Eastern Brotherhood in FO3, so, they're canon.

Yeah but that different BoS origins ruins it especially.

LOL!

Yeah but that different BoS origins ruins it especially.

The Fallout 3 BoS is very different from the original BoS aswell, does that ruin it for you?

There is a difference between different and inconsistent. Fallout 3 BoS were a different branch.

Then ignore the inconsistencies, that's what I do.

As do I.

Also, I know this is something Styles (it was you, wasn't it?) is thrilled over, and me aswell - but the Midwestern BoS is expanding rapidly west. What happenes when they meed the original BoS that exiled them, which they now have overpowered? I'd love to see that.

As others have explained we don't have to worry about New Vegas being canonical or not. If you want to discuss previous games please do so in the Fallout Series forum.
