I'm going on a vacation, will come home the 26th, will have to work for a week or so, then I will get Dawnguard. In other words, even if I had applied for the Beta, I wouldn't have had time to play it...

people are expecting today to be the day that the beta codes are sent out....i suspect friday or early next week

It's because they said it would be released earlyTHIS week, also Todd Howard said the beta would be open 2 weeks before the June 26 launch of the DLC

Which means sometime today-Wednesday.

Yes, I also have reservations about getting it. I'm somewhat worried about the possibility of it impacting my character in some detrimental way. I suppose I'll just duplicate my save and play it through on one of them, and I can always revert for the finalized version if I do so wish.

I've got a pretty good idea as to what I'm meant to be doing though. I took part in the Reach Beta, which was kinda different due to the competitive element. It wasn't as complex as Dawnguard either, considering it's Elder Scrolls and that it's integrating into an already existing game world.

lol why would anyway buy Dawnguard based on the gameplay trailers. Hasn't anyone else learned that Bethesda advertise their games looking awesome and then release them with a texture bug making it look a decade older?

why try so hard to make a good game series look bad? we enjoy skyrim and we get the DLC because we enjoy it as a whole. if you dont like elder scrolls then by all means go back to playing yugioh, or WoW, or MW3. Every great game has bugs, especiall when you make it this big. No good game is free of bugs. The bigger and better the game, the more bugs youll run into due to the amount that they try to put into it. THis is why they have beta's come out so that ppl who enjoy the game/series can help to make it even better.
