What steps must I do to open the gates that are controlled by the three stones?

Whirlwind sprint.

Actually, line up at the first stone, then sprint then whirlwind sprint. I had to ask the god named Wiki to get that answer, lol.

Thanks so much. Had forgotten about the whirlwind sprint. After several tries got through.

I was able just to run through normally, stepping from stone to stone then throughthe doors. I was not able to bring my follower, so I ask them to "sit and stay". I then completed the rest of the dungeon (with the nasties). When you complete, the gates open up allowing you to return to and gather your follower. You can then walk through to the exit as it is planned.
