Horrific Beast in Frostflow Lighthouse

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 9:02 am

Seriously is that Chaurus on steroids or something?

Just walking round the abyss casually, harvesting mah chaurus eggs when that Reaper lunges at me from about six yards away and one bombs me. Dead.

Scared the bejeesus outta' me.

Well-played Bethesda, need more of those Giant Horror moments like the slaughterfish in Obliv.

charus reaper you mean. They are one of the strongest monsters ingame. Hell even the centurion was ranked lower than it. Check youtube's skyrim top 10 enemies and you will know.

Yes, I already know.

Doesn't change the fact it's a behemoth!

I reckon they should go bigger and have giant frostbite spider in Falkreath woods named Aragog.

That was the first time I ever saw a reaper, thank the nine they're not all that big! I could only kill it by using just about every scroll and every potion on me. The reward is incredibly useful for healers, though.

When I first saw that thing i was like. "....[censored]!!!!" I have a habit of letting my characters peek around the corner and see what's next. I saw that thing and almost crapped my pants it was so big. I immediately saved because I knew it was gonna take me a while because my character was still kinda low at te time. But on a different not that quest was one of my favorite in the game. I loved finding all the journals and reading about the sounds they heard and how they disappeared.

Tip: Animal Allegiance shout should get that room full of Chaurus fighting the Reaper for a bit before you have to take it on.

The room full of Chaurus was a bigger problem for me than the Reaper.

I'm fairly convinced that Chaurus are pretty much some of the most formidable opponents in the game actually...

A giant spriggan named Treebeard! The list could go on.

I have a habit of letting my characters peek around the corner and see what's next. I saw that thing and almost crapped my pants it was so big.

I cleared the first room of chaurus and was like that was tough, will just harvest some eggs before I move on. I got so engrossed in picking them up it literally led me right into its jaws.

By then... it was too late.

Oh yeah.. Aren't they like #6? Can't remember... I know for sure not #1 and #2... #1 = Dragon Priest and #2 = Ancient Dragon...

Anyways... This Behemoth thing was scary... When I was first saw it, I was like "Omg... It MUST DIE!"

Yeah. Under Bravil/Tower dungeon. Remember, during the Thieves Guild Questline you gotta steal an arrow head? Well... within that dungeon there was a water section that was very very deep... Lucky, I play as Argonian!

This is what I like and what fallout was brilliant at doing, putting large animal type bosses. Deathclaws, crazy strong bloatfly etc.

I'd love to be walking around the swamps near morthal and meet a 20 foot long chaurus ha. The beast in the frostglow caverns was the closest thing to that, it was hell for my warrior to kill on master, not so much for my assassin (one frenzy and the weaker chaurus killed it for me).

At low levels it pretty much instantly fatal - we've been beaten back out of a few infested caves and whatnot because of them.
Niamh is starting to bear quite the grudge...

I once set up an NPC war of 5 reapers vs 30 imperial soldiers. There were 5 reapers left afterwards.
