Horse Chases Mounted related missions

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 3:59 am

Now that the horse has more than just the option of riding it I would like to see some side quests where you require your horse.
Like a little chase, walking up to a Stable Owner and asking him if he needs help with anything and he would inform the player that a man has just run off with his horse.

You could chase the man down on your horse, and if you ride along side him and attack him with sword/axe/mace or shoot him with your bow and successfully kill him without killing the horse... Then you could get a bonus, and possibly the Stable Owner could teach you something. Like how to ride a horse easier, faster, or some type of food that increases your horses stamina.

And the possibility of purchasing a horse for your follower, and when dismissing the follower the horse stays outside the town the follower returns to. OR letting your follower get on the back of the horse with you. They could even shoot at nearby enemies with their bow allowing you to focus more on steering the horse and allowing them to do the damage.

What do you think?

Considering we can't cast any spells on horses, this would basically make it mandatory for mage characters to use weapons to complete the quest. Won't happen if you ask me, but it seems like it'd be fun.

Yeah, it's a shame. I wanted to ride on the spectral horse with a Bound Bow in hand, or a Bound Battleaxe.. but because it's a spell I can't even use it while on horseback. =/

I don't think he's whining about wanting more, and I see nothing wrong with it. Every game needs criticism, if the playerbase was ever content and stopped whining or asking for new things, the developers would assume their game is fine as it is and stop working on it. =p

I'm not the only one who immediately thought of using a Bound Bow while on that horse in the trailer! You can imagine my disappointment when I found out we can't cast magic while mounted. :(

I'm not dissapointed in what I've gotten. I appreciate the mounted combat a lot! I love it in fact. That why's I just thought up all of these ideas, I'm not saying I want Betheseda to do it. It would just be neat, just like sharing my opinions is all.
I know Betheseda could be spending their time making better additions to the game then what I have suggested. But still, I would think it would be neat. In my opinion.

They have said that later on they might add it into the game. But I didn't think of using bound weapons until now. That would be awesome

I know, I meant quest focused mainly on the horse combat. As in making it a necessity.
And being able to improve your horse. Ironically now the horse armor would make more sense. Lol

I have a feeling at least one dlc will include horse armour in the future.

Hopefully, I think they really improved on the horses this time around.

Really? I dislike them. They are suicidal and for some stupid reason they can't be ridden in first person. Talk about immersion breaking.

The first person being taken out I admit was a little foolish. And when they attack other enemies they can be in the way at times.
I think those two are honestly the only real problems, they can probably be fixed easily.

I want a little more stamina in the horses for sure, and then the quests, and armor would be awesome.

I doubt they will. Bethesda seem determined to force everything into third person. ES always used to be exclusively first person. Next elder scrolls is probably going to be forced 3rd person at this rate.
