Horses steaming?

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 8:59 pm

After a long trek through a rainstorm, up several steep hills. I dismounted my steed walked 20-30 yards and turned to my horse only to see what looks like steam coming from him. I had to look several times just in case it was just dust and moved to several positions and its deffinately coming from the horse.

Anyone else seen this or am I hallucinating?

The rain had stopped and the sun had come out by the time I stopped.

Interesting. Horses in real life after a lot of exertion do actually perspire a lot. In the dawn of a cool morning that could look like `Steam`. i haven`t tried riding horses yet, but if what you say is so then that`s a pretty realistic element there.

Your horses engine is overheating, just top up the water.

I went to college in a mountain town at 7,000 feet. In the Winter, when the bars would close people coming out at closing would be giving off steam. There was usually a band and people had been dancing, so they were hot and sweaty. I have also seen horses steam after being ridden hard in movies (not a horse guy so I have not ridden in real life). So, Horses can give off steam in the cold after a hard ride.

As for seeing it in this game? Why not.

Horses do steam under certain conditions after they exert themselves.

Heh - I used to go to a club that had a really low ceiling and halfway through the night it would always start 'raining' as the evaporated perspiration condensed and dripped off the ceiling.

I have taken several photos from different angles looking at the horse from a just a few meters away and while I can see the steam flowing from behind the horse while in game, the screenshots fail to show the steam. Its there but very hard to spot so not much point in putting them on here.

It looks like small dust clouds coming from the rear of the horse due to the wind (not flatulence I have to add lol). Also, the shots I have taken, how do I post them on here? sorry to sound a noob here.

I know I have pictures of myself steaming on a cold day after a run, but to see it well, it needs to be backlit.

Don't see why horses can't steam too ;)
