I have a problem when it comes to DW, and it is that attacking with both hands stops movement and leaves the character vulnerable to whatever the enemy wants to do. Usually that's not a problem, because other DW were either sneaky assasins or heavy armored powerhouses, but now im trying a lightly armored skirmisher and dodging is the best and only way to avoid damage, i dont even plan going higher than leather armor for protection.

In these conditions, how can DW attacks be properly used?.

I use DW and light armor myself on master level, and yes, at the beginning it's a nightmare. I had to rely on followers in my first 20 levels, lure the enemy to them and attack them while they are busy with your follower/meat shield.
after you invest in some light armor perks things will start to get better, the last perk is a MUST.
If you think you are too weak level up some sneaking too.
