12 hours in

I'm 12 hours in the game, got a good chunk of it completed. I think that the game will vastly improve once 2.0 (or whatever) hits, I know there are bugs, everywhere...that's to be expected. Any who, I would like to see if it's just me or if other people think so as well. Does anyone else feel as though the weapons you have "access" to up until....lets say, the 10 hour mark of the game, feel, weak? So far, I have not really found any decent mods for my weapons except for the Varmint rifle (Scope) and lets face it, the scope is sweet, but the weapon is useless with anything pretty much above a Bloatfly. And if you need a scoped weapon to take down an enemy that you can fart on to kill, you really shouldn't be playing this game.

It just seems to me that the weapons are very weak, the best weapon I've come across so far is the Cowboy Repeater and I can't even find/get the mats to make decent ammo for it, also, a scope would be sweet for that weapon, Is there one that I may have missed up to that point into the game?

Another thing is, I have recruited Boon as my companion and I think that he is WAY overpowered, (not really complaining I guess, I would just like to get some shots that actually do some damage in on the baddies before they die). I have also discovered that the Deathclaws are ridiculously overpowered, thay have incredible amounts of armor. I had to put the game on very easy just to barely take down 1 of them! with Boon helping me! and no, I'm not a noob, I'm not terrible at video games, I did use a weapon with DT/AP rounds. This just further proves my point that either, they are way too overpowered or better yet, the weapons are way too UNDERPOWERED.

This isn't a rant...Per se` I'm loving the game, I just thought things would be a bit more balanced, but who knows, maybe they will be after the patch hits.

I also found out how to fix the mouse accel problem, if anyone need clarification on that, just let me know.

Happy wastelanding!

I feel like you shouldn't have access to mods very easily, anyway. I've barely been able to get out of Doc Mitchell's house, though, because I have very little time to play. So I haven't really experienced this.

And with weapons, dunno what to tell you. My roommate has a service rifle and a hunting rifle. Oh, and an incinerator... Be patient, I guess? Do side quests? Explore?

Yeah, I haven't found (as in finding but not having to pay for) many real good weapons. However, if you make it to the Gun Runners outside New Vegas they've got a lot of guns for sell that you probably haven't seen yet - but they're expensive as [censored]. A sniper rifle, new rifles, various mods, etc.
