House Decorating how to keep items where you put them

So i've seen a lot of people who enjoy furnishing their houses and then decorating them with things they find in the world.
I've also seen a lot of people complain that when they return to their homes, their items have flown everywhere.

i love decorating so i did some digging on how to fix this one day.

I'm sure this might be common knowledge to some, but if you're playing on console and want to decorate your house....know this:

1. Enter your house. Drop all the items on the floor that you want to decorate with.

2. Exit your house. Save once you're outside.

3. Load the save and re enter the house.

4. Arrange items how you want them. Save again when you're finished to be safe.

5. You're items should stay put, assuming they aren't on something uneven.

But i've found that this will keep your items in place and i've cramed over a thousand items into my tiny one room hearthfire home and it looks awesome.

Some tips:
save often while you are decorating. it's frustrating to knock over a bunch of things and have to rearrange them all.
Use the furniture and the shape of the house to scraqe items to the desired orientation while arranging them.
Some items will keep falling over no matter what. Such as grey fox statue and honningbrew decantur, due, i assume, to their odd weight distribution and physics.
Keep your housecarl/companion outside when you are decorating. They will knock over your crap relentlessly.

Til next time, keep exploring and finding those little oddities to display.
Have fun. Hope this helped some of you. :D

Console players have never had to save their game in order to get their stuff to stay put, maybe it is different if you are on the PC. We do have a thread on house decorating.
