How to add the new preset screenshots as your avatar!

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 12:46 am

For those who may not know and may be like omfg I want a cool avatar too!

Go to this link:
http://www.bethblog.com/index.php/2011/08/24/the-races-and-faces-of-skyrim/

Click on the race you want, it should open up a new window of just the race you chose on a white background

Right-click it, then click save image as and then save it to what ever directory you want

Go to where you saved it and open it in windows photo gallery, probably default for most people

Click on "Fix" at the top of window

On your right some options should pop up, click crop picture

A box should open up on your screen shot that you can drag around and expand

Drag it and form it around the face that you desire, once that is done click apply

Now just exit out and add it like you would any other avatar.

I picked the same character, and used the same program to make my avatar. :)

I gave mine some sweet Cloud armor, and removed the tattoo from his head though.

Sorry for offtopic, but what Anime (if it is) is that from?

IrfanView here.

I love IrfanView as an image viewer, never really learned how to do stuff with it though, I normally use GIMP for that type of thing.

Another way is to do essentially the same thing in Paint, I found out.

Easiest way: (Windows 7 or Vista)

1. Open Snipping Tool
2. Highlight desired preset screenshot
3. Save picture

You can download a free pack of addons (recommended!) but, I am fairly sure, even without all those things, you can just (for example) press Ctrl+H to see an image at 100% zoom, select a square/rectangular section - it will show X by Y pixel count as you adjust this - with the mouse, then once you are happy with the area to crop, press Ctrl+Y to crop it. You can then save the resulting croppage (Ctrl+S or menu option) as whatever you like (e.g., jpeg).

Anyway, that is what I do.

This is not difficult at all and can be easily done with MS Paint. Why make a thread about it?

I just pressed shift + command + 4 and then dragged a box around the zoomed in picture. I then did some magic in photoshop using an ingame pic of Mankar Camoran in paradise.

Lord Eisenhorn would not be happy if he were to be replaced with generic xeno scum.
(He's frowning at the mere thought of being replaced)
