How To Become A Werewolf For A 2nd Time

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 2:19 pm

When I finished the Companions quest I decided to follow suit with Kodlak and get rid of my Lycanthropy (Werewolf curse) That was over 50 levels ago. Now I feel like it would be fun to run around as a Werewolf again and tear some people up. The problem with this is that I can't seem to find out how to become a Werewolf again. It's not as simple as Vampirism, does anyone know how I can become a Werewolf again?

You can't. Lycanthropy is only available via the companions quest. If you're on PC you can download a number of different mods or make a poison/disease mod yourself with the creation kit

There's no way to become a Werewolf after you are cured??? That's messed up, they should definitely fix that.

You can't get a virus twice. Doesn't seem that unreasonable.

Also, spoiler tags anyone?

This thread belongs in spoilers

Spoiler
You cannot become a werewolf again without console commands/mods. This isn't something that needs to be fixed... it's part of the story.

It's not a spoiler anymore. Skyrim has been out for almost six months now. If you don't at least know that Kodlak wants to get rid of his lycanthropy, wow...

Seems like there should be a random event where you get attacked by a random Werewolf and you contract the disease.

Although it does seem more likely that once you've had Lycanthropy, your body would become resistant to it.

One problem. The Ring of Hircine only works if you are currently a werewolf. AFAIK, if you've already cured yourself of lycanthropy, then it's no dice (in other words, it won't work as you won't get the ability required for transforming even if the ring is equipped, at least this has never worked for me, anyway). Also, I'd like to point out
Spoiler
that it's really dumb how the werewolf comments from the guards trigger upon completion of a Companion's Guild quest instead of the dialogue being triggered by the player being a werewolf. I've heard that this is the case, but I cannot find the generic guard dialogue to verify it.

Oh I don't know, I'm sure there are still people who are new to the game, or who haven't followed the Companion Quests. (A friend of mine told me earlier today about a Quest he's stuck on that I've never heard of, and I've been playing the game three or four times longer than him.)

I think they probably make a side quest called "Lycanthropy renewal".
So that way people who accidentally killed his wolf , can get back the werewolf abilities.

In my opinion , the werewolf is just good for speed. I keep dying as a werewolf.

When you cure yourself of the disease, you kill your werewolf spirit given to you by Hircine, so you really can't become a werewolf again because there's no werewolf spirit to transform you.

This or using the console command is the only real way to become one for a second time. I actually downloaded a lycanthropy mod from steam and I still haven't found one in the wild let alone become infected by one.

No, it's not. No one told you to cure yourself. It's your problem now. Either make a new save or run around as a mortal.

I think there's a way to keep both versions of the ring, but the cursed one grants random transformations.

When you cure yourself of the disease, you kill your werewolf spirit given to you by Hircine, so you really can't become a werewolf again because there's no werewolf spirit to transform you.
Maybe we could apologize to Hircine and get a 2nd chance. :P
