How do I buy Dawnguard? <noobquerry>

Seriously, I don't know. I have never even played an online game let alone bought one online.

What do I do? How do I get the points? I am in Ontario, Canada if that matters.

im in canada too and apparently where i live dont have the 1600 microsoft points for sell only 1400 and 2800 one. I dont know about ontario but I had to buy the 2800 one cuz I really want it.. u can go on microsoft website if u dont have live yet. then it shows u a step by step of how to get live.. u dont need to pay for live to get the dlc. u just need the microsoft points to get it.

You need an XBox live account first. To buy DLC's and such you do not need the Gold version(this is for online gaming), Silver is enough to purchase marketplace stuff which you get automatically assigned to you when you sign up for your account.

Then you need MicrosoftPoints which you can buy on cards in stores with a code on it. On the back you will find instructions how to redeem them through your account; easy and step by step so don't worry about it. You can also buy them online as all you actually need is the code to redeem the points, online they might also a wider variety; I can't get the 1600 in stores here either though we used to have them but I can still buy them online.

If it's the first time I recommend just going to a store nearby, much easier and any extra points you can save for other stuff or future DLC.

Skooma, I'm glad you asked because Dawnguard will be my first Xbox marketplace purchase too, & I appreciate the helpful answers. So excited for the DLC, just a few days now. Can't wait to try Call Dragon & Call of Valor. We do get to play as our existing character, right?
