I finished MQ and would like to drop the Elder Scroll so I can show it off in my Solitude home. When I try it says it is a quest item and stays in inventory. I then tried to sell it to the head librarian in the Arcaneum in the hope I could steal it back from him. Nope...it disappears. I play on Xbox so console commands do not help. Has anyone figured out a way?

I'm not sure what you're asking, you want to keep it but not have it stuck in your inventory? This is not an option, either you keep it or you donate it to the college as far as I'm aware.

Quest Items weigh 0, no matter what it says

i think u get a few thousand gold for it at the college

or you could do the other quest lines attached to it and get yourself a cool item
