Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 8:17 pm

I just want to be able to actually smith decent stuff, but it takes friggin ages to level it up. Any tips on how to hurry the process are welcome.

I think fastest with fewest materials is iron daggers, it's one leather and one iron ingot.

Like they said iron daggers and takes no time at all, don't even need warrior stone. Also master trainer is in sky forge.

Hide bracers and boots are also good for boosting smithing since there's so much leather to be had.

After several hours of adventuring in the wilderness, and hoarding every hide I could get since the beginning I played, I made nothing but leather bracers until I hit level 60 smithin in about 5 minutes. Then I enchanted most of it with all the soulgems I gathered in the game, and raised my enchanting to 50ish in 5 minutes. Its pretty easy.

After making the iron daggers, keep enough iron to enhance the daggers. This helps with raising smithing. (Then take all your petty soul gems and enchant said enhanced iron daggers - raise your enchanting skill) Good money in it.

Get the Alteration spell, Transmute, and then find/buy as much Iron and Silver ore that you can. Smith Jewelry and you'll be a pro in no time.

once you have a few thousand gold its easy but it does take a an hour or more, you need to buy like 300 steel ingots and leather starps and just spend a lot of time making daggers and it will raise it to 100 after a bit, it depends where you start at but thats how i did it., but my smithing was like 50 already when i decided to take it to 100 but it took an hour or so, next playthru i'm gonna stockpile ingots from the start of the game so once i'm leveld up i can just make the daggers.

Yea, enchanting is a worthwhile skill to level up, and the best way to do it just so happens to benefit from leveling smithing; Iron Daggers.

Mass produce those little pricks every chance you get, then use your most profitable enchantments on every one of them. Sell for massive profits and fast skill gains.

Enchanted daggers literally paid for my house and all of its decoration in full :)

No matter what you make you get the same experience for it so the easiest thing to do is make iron daggers. And if you want to level it really quick use the warrior stone and if you have a house sleep in the bed to get the bonus unless you a werewolf of course.

It is quiet easy to level up it just take money to buy iron ores, iron ingots, leather, and leather strips to make daggers.

my character simply repairs everything before she sells it. if you do that, you will go up steadily.

i have found that increasing steadily is better than increasing quickly because you must still go

20 or so ranks to improve the quality one more notch. superior to exquisite as an example

smithing is perhaps the easier skill to power level.

Even GameInformer wants you to cheat. They just did "An Explorer's Guide to Skyrim" in their latest issue saying and I quote "to use Iron Ingot's and Leather Strips to make Iron Daggers". THANKS GI for making more nubs who're just going to boost there Smithing straight to 100.. get bored.. and stop playing the game because they're too "powerful".

=/

But yeah, that's your answer. Want it to go faster? Take the Warrior Stone (20% to Warrior-type skills, this includes Smithing), or the Lover's Stone (15% increase to ALL skills).

This is how I do it, so I don't feel that I'm over abusing it. Everytime I clear a dungeon with Iron ore, I mine them all, turn them in to ingots and create iron daggers. And no, I don't intentionally go out and look for mines with iron ore in it.

Just follow what everyone else does... become Tamriel's foremost supplier of Iron Daggers and Leather Bracers. Your Smithing Skill will hit where you need it to in no time.

I just repaired the armors that I had taken from dead bandits. After a while, I transmuted all my iron ore into silver and gold and produced some jewelery, and I hit 100 not much later.

Smithing is really one of the fastest leveling skills in the game, so I don't understand the complain of the OP.

Banish, banish, banish. If you see this enchantment on a weapon buy it. This makes all those little iron daggers worth 1k each.

The OP's question isn't abput money or funding, bro. lol They are wondering about raising their Smithing level faster. Having the banish Enchantment is great, and using it to enchant the gluttonous amounts of Iron Daggers that you find is a great way to not only make money, but to raise your Enchantment Skill level, but the OP is wondering about Smithing.

after making the dagger, the improve them as that only uses 1 bar and gives skill, compared to making 2 daggers you save yourself a ton of leather if your making a large batch.
