Its way to dark.. is there a method of permanently making it brighter? I heard you can drop lit torches but they keep going out.

Once you complete the "The Throat of the World" quest the temple will transform into it's lived in status, which is much brighter.

Well. Not really. Even after Throat of the World it's still pretty dismal and dark. My advice would be to buy the game on PC and install some mods.

Somebody had a nice post about how to brighten the home using torches. Put torches in a kettle, and they will light up. BRB. I'll try this.
