I may be miss informed, but you can only play 1 faction, you ARE locked into the faction you choose for that character. :spotted owl:

I lot of people like the rebel/underdog mindset. Some like the Resistance's goal. The rest like their look. Can't blame any of them.

Actually it seemed fairly even from the many posts that asked this question.

You are misinformed, the multiplayer side choosing mechanic is quite generic, if one side is full you can choose to join the other side or leave the game if you really don't want to play as that faction.

This is wrong. You can use any character on both resistance and security.

The reason i was going to play Resistance was because of their reason for fighting......but ehhh whateva ill still play them and im pretty sure each char can play on both sides i would like if it was locked though.

I like the whole idea of escaping the Arc. They refuse to give equal supplies to the Guests, yet they also don't want the Guests to leave. Since when did they have the power to control everybody? That is a classical example of tyranny. And I'd WANT to leave anyway just so I can explore the water covered world and look for land.

Depends on what you would prefer as a first and permanent choice. Once a character is linked to a faction they are stuck there. Have to make a new character to use the other.

I think I might be wrong about the locked?! Last I remember it's locked.

Why join the Resistance? They are terrorists after all. Security is the way to go.

I have a personality playing for each side, we get into some heated debates, and occasionally it escalates to violence.

"The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

IMO, the security is trying to maintain the comfort of some while the majority of people are being suppressed and told "yeah sorry you have no were to go and your watching your children starve but we are full". I just think in that situation I would side with the refugies even if I was rich and happened to take a vacation to the arc before the world went to hell. Just doesnt seam like the kind of situation where somone says "dibs" and everyone else is just suppossed to jump back in the water."

Something I posted in a thread earlier today.

Oh good, so I'm not the only one suffering from split-brink personality disorder. The doctor said it was irreversible :/

That's crazy 'cause I was thinking of Waterworld when I was typing this. Love that movie even if it is a teensy bit too far fetched for me. :foodndrink:

That's cause we all want to be Al Salvadorian gang bangers and we are all hoping this game will do it for us. What ya thunk?

polls on here have shown more wanted to be security I have found.

I'm not sure if you were just joking around about this but...Al Salvadorian is El Salvadorian, from the country El Salvador. My bad if you were being sarcastic.

I would equate Security = corrupt government, Resistance = oppressed people. I would choose Resistance because I feel my government in real life is trampling on my personnel freedoms. I LOVE the theme of Brink and these 2 warring factions. As a normal person with no urge to ever be in the military I could however see myself fighting in a real life civil war, a scenario much like Brink, if my government keeps going the route they are going.

Sorry for somewhat bringing politics (LOLitics) into the discussion....
