How do I contact a moderator I disagree with?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 1:23 pm

This lad locked my thread concerning a very central issue within the Fallout 3/Fallout Vegas gameplay, telling me to post in the general suggestion thread where there's basicly suggestions like "add cooler cars, I want this and that weapon" etc... So I disagree with this and would like to talk it over with him but I'm not allowed to send PM's.

Is there any other way?
I'm guessing that since a game like Fallout Vegas isn't even out yet EVERYTHING is more or less speculation or suggestions so something as central as VATS should deserve its own thread.

Cheers.

There is probably about 5 threads in their that cover VATS, another one just so people can read what you say isn't needed.

I'll gladly take that with the MOD, though VATS is a central aprt of the gameplay and at least 5 threads discussing the subject from various points of view and from various issues is needed IMO.

Anyway, how do I PM people? Why does it say that I'm not allowed?

Also: If there's a thread specificly or broadly discussing the fact that you basicly cheat over the AI when you use VATS in comparison to real time combat or the previous Fallout games, please direct me to it.

Why not just use on of the other threads on V.A.T.S and make a post in those? The moderator in question did his/her job, that's all. Disagreeing won't solve anything, just use one of the existing topics.

In these forums? By that you mean the Ideas and Suggestion Threads? All ideas/discussion/etc goes into that one thread, no exceptions (sometimes). It's that way for TES V thread any ways.

Edit: The fishy stick Exorince gave you was mine, he stole it. So yeah, enjoy MY fishy stick.

Not needed. Merge al existing topics I say. Cover all the bases in one thread and reduce spam and cross thread posting. This thread should probably be locked soon aswell.

9. Posting about moderator or administrator action or inaction is also against the rules of this forum.

Please feel free however to contact the moderator involved, another moderator you feel comfortable with, our community manager Gstaff or another admin if you disagree with a moderator action. Our moderators do not mind taking a second look or discussing an action with the other moderators and admin to assure they have acted fairly. So if you think you've been treated wrongly or that unfairly, be sure to send a PM. Sometimes moderators make mistakes.

How to send a "Personal Message" (PM)

To PM a forum member, click on that member's name to view their profile. In the right-hand column under "Communicate," click on "Send a Personal Message." (You can also click on the "PM" button at the bottom of member posts.) From there it's pretty self-explanatory and messages use the same formatting code as regular posts do. Remember to be on your best-behaviour when PMing someone. Mean, harassing messages can lead to warnings against your account.

Hmm, from my point of view nearly every thread in the Vegas forum is discussing various changes or suggesting various changes.
The pocket thread, the style of Vegas, the Fallout armour thread etc. Besides, it would seem really weird that you'd only have a single thread for an entire new and anticipated game dealing with suggestions. Most games have entire forums only dedicated to pure suggestions. Does Bethesda really care that little about my little opinion?:,(

You're not allowed to use the PM system until you have made a number of posts already. Other members are correct: this is a defense against spammers of an extremely malicious sort who have appeared recently.

Anyway, if the moderators instructed you to confine your posts to a specific thread, you need to do so, even if you believe you have a reason to do otherwise. The forums would be a very disorderly place if any number of members were to open topics to discuss things that are already being discussed in other threads. Members using those threads would be rightfully upset at seeing these threads pushed off the front pages by a number of redundant topics.
