How to control bullet spread

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 8:46 am

I can't for the life of me understand how people do this. I can't begin to count how many times I've been in a one on one situation where the other person simply guns me down when (according to the gun stats) they shouldn't be able to. I've tried recoil control techniques, but of course they do nothing for bullet spread. It's like I'm using a NERF gun and the guy I'm shooting at is using a railgun. I'm at my wits end, and I'd hate to give up on this game because I can't figure out a simple mechanic such as bullet spread. I like the game (though not $50 worth of liking) and I do want to keep playing it once the whole ATI driver fiasco is fixed.

Try getting buffed for damage, attaching a sight, and a grip. When the enemy is distanced Aim and burst, but when they get close spray. It works out nicely for me.

I've tried practically every combination of sight and grip (ok so there's only one grip) and burst firing but it doesn't work for me, even with the damage buff. I know I have terrible aim, but I also know damn well that poor aim shouldn't stop me from being able to control the bullet spread of a weapon.

True. Eh, if all else fails get close enough for it to not matter xD

But seriously, I'm not too sure what could be the issue. I guess it's just how the wep was designed for the game. Might actually be intended for CQC.

ARs should be fired in 1-3 shot bursts, I do think they went a little overkill on the spread considering any bursts longer than that and the bullets are flying EVERYWHERE. With SMGs you can get away with 2-8 shot bursts, depending on which one.

Im the opposite to you. i win pritty much every one on one not to brag jus to show this next bit works for me n i hope it does for u. i use a carb 9 with forgrip and adjusted iron sights (i tend not to use scopes because they jump about alot also its a very close fast paced game, having a scope puts u at a disadvantage seems wierd i know but ths wot i found they tend to be in ur face), muzzle flash and duck taped mags... wot ive found on this game is wether u aim down sights or not jus hold down the trigger and dnt let up till ur out of ammo or the other dude hits the floor (quick switch to pistol if u have to).... if u do burts ull find the other dude will be holding down the trigger and he will beat u as u paused... dnt pause jus do a continuse burst and it should work for u. ive found SMGs are the better weapon to use for me as the tend to do loads more damage on stats.. it might not look much but jus tht extra lil bit of damage or stababilty makes all the differance i hope this helps u out... Good luck

This.

It's totally different depending on the weapon you're using.

Not just the class, but each individual weapon handles uniquely. What gun(s) do you use?

I have lots of success with a Gerund with YeoTek, front grip and a muzzle break. Shoot 2-4 shot bursts, aim for the head if possible. In close quarters switch to an SMG of your choise. Personally I like Galactic.

I hope that ARs work better in bursts. But so far it doesn't seem to be that effective for me. It seems that holding down the trigger and medium range kills faster...though it does waste more ammo.

I'm still trying to get a feel for it. I prefer a gun that I have to burst fire..which is why my SMG of choice is the Tampa.

They work admirably burst fired or tap fired.

And really, the Tampa? There is no accuracy on that thing, burst or tap. At least the Euston can fire a couple of rounds in the vicinity of the cross-hair before needing a cooldown.

First roll back your driver from the hotfix and your game will run fine. Trust me did it for me.
Also either take cover and crouch and fill them with lead or run at them strafing at the same time til you can slide them or knock them with a melee attack.
The idea is if the gun is accurate aim for head and body so kinda moving up and down as you shoot but if its not close the gap before firing the first shot and then load it into their bodies.
Also they may be pre-empting your movements or you simply aren't moving try practicing on enemy targets to try and get them before they even fire one shot. Stay as invisible until you need to shoot or if a heavy crouch behind a wall and fill them with lead after a pre-emptive grenade.

I'm not sure how far you are from the enemy but some guns have a longer or shorter range. Once you hit a certain distance you can't hit anything, but I'm playing on Xbox and I've got no problems aiming. Just the op AI with god aim.

As mentioned by everyone else who's posted thus far, just fire in burst and attach a grip and/or a muzzle brake for stability.

Any sight is kinda wasted on the Gerund, imo. That gun has such a high hip-fire accuracy that you don't even have to ADS.

I've never experienced any adjustment in accuracy for any weapon I put a sight on. For the most part, besides the COGA as it zooms, it all seems personal preference in aesthetic. I prefer the iron sights of the Euston, and after realizing none of the red-dot sights have any impact the weapons own accuracy (just my own) I ditched them and went with adjusted sights for personal preference.

For the most part, it doesn't seem there is anything in game that will actually increase weapon accuracy stat wise, just player accuracy based on what form of sight they prefer.

Finally, yeah... the Gerund is an (ugly) monster of a rifle, but I just don't like how it feels. I stick with the Rhetta, Euston, or Bulpdaun as my assault rifles (I know, the last is an SMG, it just hits that hard.)

You can try different sensitivities on the thumb stick until you find the sensitivity setting you are comfortable playing with. I set mine on the highest sensitivity possible and I do fine. with the grips and sights and the sensitivity all the way up I'm able to just unload on someone while controlling the recoil with the thumb sticks and i'm able to mow down up to 4 people within a few seconds from each other. with reloading after two offcoarse. I like the bullet spray in this game its realistic. After the first three shots on any fully automatic the bullets are going to start spraying everywhere in real life. I think it adds to the game being that realistic on bullet spray because in real life everyone has there unique way of handling a fire arm. You just need to find what works for you and go for it. Then you will start seeing a major improvement in playing the game. everyone has there own style of play. I say just experiment and find what works for you and go with it. not everyone can be snipers for an example. Hope this helps.

What weapon are you using, primarily?

Most assault rifles have a pretty high recoil in this game, which makes them largely inferior to SMGs even for players that can burst fire and have good aim. They make up for it by the fact that they take half as many rounds to kill a target, but you still have to get the jump most of the time to beat an SMG if your'e using an assault rifle.

Other than that, the only thing I can think of is get more buffs. I've found that in one on one close quarters skirmishes, more often than not it's the player with more buffs that wins, not the player with better aim. If you have more damage, armor, and health than the target, you're far more likely to win.

I win most 1v1s too, but this is the worst advice ever. Holding down the trigger with an AR will cause 75% of any bullets after the 4th to miss, at point-blank range. It's safe to hold the trigger down with an SMG if the enemy is right in front of you, but anything beyond a few feet and most of the bullets will start missing after the 10th if you just spray.

Use the foregrip and short, controlled bursts. The problem with ARs (in RL and Brink) is muzzle-climb under burst fire, but it can be used to your advantage, too. If you aim low, the muzzle-climb will place subsequent rounds higher up on your target and drop 'em. Move in and out of cover, don't stand and blaze until a target falls to a single long burst - your rounds will hit mainly scenery and incoming firre will drop you, more often than not. Don't go 'Lone-Wolf' unless it's for an objective, attack choke points and approach firefights as a group, dividing the enemy's fire and giving you the chance to chip away at multiple baddies. When the radar shows enemy-close I also move ironsighted-in at all times - this will give you an edge over a baddie sprinting into your LOS, or allows you to react instantly when your sights pass over a stationary target. I use adjusted Ironsights to prevent the zoom effect - the sights in Blink don't appear to actively adjust accuracy, merely your sight-picture and background picture.

Be warned - Those who have given you spray-n-pray advice are dead wrong, frankly.

Sting and move, use cover and fire in short bursts. Stick at it, perseverence will be rewarded. I started off getting owned, too, but now I regularly make the honours list. Your first 8/9k game is a great feeling - hope it's not too long a wait.

Muzzle break to cut some recoil and a grip to improve accuracy. If you still have a hard time then try another gun. Find a gun that suites you best.
