How to convince a friend to get BRINK?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 9:42 pm

One of my friends is considering BRINK, but he's entirely convinced it will devolve into CoD run-and-gun in a matter of minutes. Everything I do won't work, so how can I convince him that teamwork is the only option?

Get the game and have him watch you play it.

If that won't work, then it sounds like he's rigid in his beliefs.

He's a pirate And lives by the quote "Do what you want, cause a pirate is free!", so he'll most likely pirate a copy.

But even then, he won't even consider it until I convince him, and he's dismissing all my facts left and right >_>

Have him watch leaked footage. That's what I did and it got 3 people to buy it. =P

I am pretty much burnt out in terms of trying to recruit friends to buy it. I have spam text messaged the website, begged them to just watch the videos and trailers and so on and so forth. Lots of people simply just want to continue drinking the tasteless KOOL-AID that is CoD and BF. The sad part is I have actually got a few friends to come here and check out the community and have been ran off as "noobs" and the game hasent even come out yet. There's quite a few jerks on these forums. Maybe instead of talking smack to someone because they got the wrong release date or ask a question that you deem is stupid, try being nice for once.

  • Come over your friend's house
  • "Borrow" his COD and let him borrow Brink for a week or two
  • Progress
  • Come back to friend's. If he likes it, tell him to buy it so you two can have a ball. If he doesn't, be sure that he gives your game first then you smash his game up of him and run.

No, we're Steam [censored]. And I wouldn't be caught dead holding Call of Duty. :P

EDIT: That's censored now? Used to just be reworded to "really devoted fan". Oh well.

Tell him "stop being a girl and play the damn game."

Tell him "you make the game what it is now get out there and help me make it a team game."

Tell him "I'll give you a cookie if you buy the game."

I tried to convince my clanmates but it seems none of them is really interested. Posted videos and talked about the game...etc.. Some of them just won't play it because they dislike the cartoonish graphics *sigh*. They will stick to CoD and BF. If Brink is going to be my game then it probably means that I have to leave this clan because I'm quiet sure that Brink is mainly focused on clan gaming.

Think about it like this: You made friends in CoD and BF right? Well I am sure you will make new ones in BRINK! I am not going to let friends or anyone else dictate what games I play.

Well, of course I can make new friends in Brink. Although I don't like the idea of leaving my clan. I know them for many years now and I know I'll lost contact after awhile if there is nothing we don't do together anymore. But if the interests go into different directions I don't see another choice. That's the way the cookie crumbles. I will know more after some weeks of playing Brink.
