How to create a race of Npcs, like Bandits

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 7:15 pm

So basically I want to create a group of npcs all with the same name and AI, just with different genders, voices and physical appearances, like bandits. Any help? As well, is there anyway to recalculate ceilings? My walls were set up just fine but it's still glitched.

Make a few different NPCs. Make a master AI package. Attach the package to all your NPCs.

How do I make a master AI package? Srry, I'm really new to the CK and modding in general.

In this case it might be worth following some of the basic tutorials that seem to related to what you are trying to do on the CK Wiki.

Also, the way bandits work, is all of the variants are linked to a small handful of essentially template bandit NPCs, which can be chosen via the main tab of the NPC editor.

You're asking a really big question there. It would be like asking a mechanic's forum "How do you build a car?" Nobody can really answer. They'd prolly start asking you questions, like 2-door, 4-door, or hatchback?

Maybe hit existing tutorials and the wiki first and try a few things on your own. Then you can ask about specific problems you encounter. These forums seem pretty amazing as answering things like "How do I get X to do Y after Z?" :)

I'm not sure how to do this myself but I do remember Episode 6 of the Creation Kit Tutorial Series "Basic Encounters" where they placed a generic mob that would change gender and race every time the player went into the dungeon. You might start there. How are those generic mobs defined and how much AI do they share?

Ty for the help. Unfortunately, these mobs are going to have to be both friendly and persistent, so I've been thinking I should just take the extra effort to making them all unique and simply giving them all the same in-game name. If you're curious, I'm making a quest arc about a cult led by Heimskr bent on Thalmor genocide.
