How dangerous are werewolves ?

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 4:01 pm

Got into Utterings dungeon last night and came across werewolves in cages. They were completely silent. Tried to kill one using an ice shout , no good. If you meet them in combat, how dangerous are they ? Hard to tell when they are caged up.

Second thing, went to an experly locked prison cage in Abandoned prison, couldn't pick the lock. Saw chair just inside door and it let me sit down -- weird, must be a glitch. This was a dumb thing to do because the only way out was to.. pick the lock. Couldn't do it so re- load game. Save your games, troops ! Or buy Max Payne for serious action, looks good.

The lower level werewolves are not that dangerous but the higher you get in level and they become a little harder.

Its weird they are hostile towards fellow werewolves. I've had to kill every one I came across after freeing them.

LOL! That totally sounds like something I would do. I probably would have stayed there and tried to open the lock. Higher level locks can up your lockpick level even when you fail. Of course, that only works if you have plenty of extra lockpicks you don't mind breaking.

I find that those werewolves caged in the various dungeons are somewhat easier at lower levels, hard at mid-levels, and easy again at high levels.

If you are in Beast form before you confront them, they will not attack you. I opened the cage, sneaked away from them and transformed into a werewolf, and when I returned they did not attack me at all. When I turned back to human form, they attacked me.

They would be dangerous if they used the same power moves as you can when you're a werewolf.

Such as the sprinting one, or the one that sends you flying.

However, in my experience they don't, so they're generally the same as any other fight with a sabretooth/bear perhaps.

According to my Vampire Assassin, they're not that difficult to kill at all...

But if you're really worried about it, just go to one of the Silver Hand lairs, kill one and snatch the Silver Longsword that they're sure to drop.

Cuts through Werewolves like a hot knife through butter. ;)

Yeah the whole 2 of them you find in the entire game.

Edit: Oh, apparently there is more.

Only the odd few locked up in cages, if you play unmoded or you are on console there are none out in the wild  unless you play on a PC.

The only Werewolf I have come across is the one related to a Daedric Quest. He kicked my butt a few times. Until I used Slow Time and got enough hits in to stagger him.
