How dare you make surrendering the only option to finish a q

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 5:14 am

Forsworn Conspiracy.

The only way to finish the quest is to "Surrender" to WEAK corrupt guards & jailors who can be easily killed instead. Shame on Bethesda. The music in this game is so epic, but there is nothing epic about "Surrender" being your only option especially against WEAK NPCS. Please fix this, PLEASE fix this. We should be able to slay these corrupt guards & the corrupt jailors then take control of the jail then talk to Macaketh (forsworn king).

SHAME.

GIVE THE PLAYER MORE CONTROL OVER QUESTS.

(I still love Bethesda don't get me wrong)

Thank you for reading!

That's why I destroyed all of the guards... Until the city was in control of the Stormcloaks.

You're looking at it the wrong way. I killed like 15 guards before I had to surrender. Take on as many as you can and then sheathe your weapon when you can't take any more.

It's really a cool part of the game because you can kill as many guards as you want without worrying about a bounty.

Because it's part one of a two part quest arc. The city guard will get what coming to them when the second part is done with you watching the mayhem with a giant smile on your face.

Only those first three are certainly corrupt. The rest are just going by what they're told. The first three never survive when I play.

Huh, I didn't even know what happened if you didn't surrender. I just surrendered immediately, kind of impressed that a quest was taking me in an unexpected direction instead of asking me to simply murder a bunch more people without thinking....

I'm not I did not even know I was supposed to surrender. I killed them because going to jail ruins your stats. How am I supposed to know I'm supposed too? I can not read the minds of the game programers.

I dunno, I just didn't surrender. I fought my way out of Markarth instead, and haven't returned. That's how I "finished" the quest.

Also, the events narrated in the book "The Bear of Markath" while, used as pro-imperial propaganda, are true giving you a measure of how much the Stormcloacks leaders are corrupt and using the people of Skyrim for their own gain.

A lot of quests can only be completed in one way. This is no game made by Black Isles Studios or Troika. Just surrender, go to the mines and set the other inmates free. You'll get your revenge against the guards soon enough! (even if guards win at the end)

All of these. They didn't force you to surrender. You could've fought your way out of the city, and that would have resulted in not really finishing the quest as intended, but that's still an ending to it. You also could have stayed and fought until finally succumbing to the pressure. And getting arrested takes in a very unique path and offers a way better story and a more interesting experience.

How dare you not allow your character to be three dimensional and actually have to suffer a minor loss every once and a while. Shame on you.

Markarth is the most rotten city of Skyrim. Even the citizens who seem to be honest are filthy cannibals / corrupt officials.
I'd love to burn the city with fire :flamethrower: but it's fkin made of stone XD yea even the beds.. they were trolling me :whistling:
So I trolled back by unleashing the Forsworn.

This idea that every story needs to have a plethora of options is incredibly strange and bothersome to me.

That's pretty much what I had to do here since surrendering ended the quest but locked up the computer. Looked on the wiki and seems this is pretty buggy. I tried setstage to finish it as suggested and that even resulted in a locked up computer. Guess I'll have to wait until this is fixed before trying again with a new character.

I had to surrender because there's only one guard left after the mess :unsure2:

I killed the first three, and when I got out I went on rampage (I thought ALL the guards are corrupt. Come on now, it's basically the Dwemer version of Riften), and after I was finished, there is no guard for me to surrender to :unsure2:

Got to go to Understone Keep and surrender to the guard there to move on

I get lost in this post...
If you mean the quest about releasing prisoners, my character didn't do any killing in my game-play.
To stay out of troble, when you get out, you don't have to kill anyone.
Instead, stay and watch the whole events. After all, that no guards or bounty will be on you.

I do not think surrender is even needed.
I walked out with weapons sheathed, attacking nothing, guards did not even say boo to me.
