How did the courier get a pip-boy? : Fallout: New Vegas

since you only get a pip-boy by growing up in a vault i was wondering do they tell u how your character in nv "the courier" gets a pip-boy? :blink:

There has been speculation that he was the leader of a certain vault nearby (don't want to ruin it) or alternatively he found one and somehow hacked it.

Clearly haven't played much Fallout, they have biometric sensors so that they only work with the user, so yeah you could hack it off but it wouldn't help you.
