How does anyone ever level up Alteration? : V

The only low level alteration spells are magelight and oakflesh.

I had to use magelight like 12 times just to get 1 level of alteration.

Not 100% sure, but isn't Transmute alteration too? Pretty sure you can use that at any level and that's a relatively effective way to level it up. Alteration is really one of those abilities that levels up on accident, not one of those you try to spam to level up.

There's also Equilibrium and you can always cast oakflesh while in battle. helpful and levels you up some.

Transmute is Adept.

The flesh spells, use them just before you encounter an enemy or during a fight. When you level alteration further, you will get spells like detect life, detect dead and paralyse. They can all be cast for alteration experience.

i level it up to 100, i use oakflesh when enemies are close, if you want to power level, you just have to use oakflesh when enemies are close by, or use waterbreathing while you're in water, its not fast but it will level it up.

I believe I leveled alteration all the way up by dual casting mage light. I didn't take that long for me.

Better yet, juggle a bucket up in the air with one hand with telekinesis and detect life in the other.

I usually level it up by either, buying iron ore for 5 septims a piece, then transmuting it into silver, then gold.

Cast armor spells before and during battle every time it goes down.

Get that Detect Life spell, go to a crowded place, like during the day in the market area of Whiterun, then constantly dual cast that spell.

Glad I picked up on this thread. I got detect life but didn't know it was good for leveling alteration (I didn't even use it since aura whisper seems much better).

This. I dropped an item on the ground then carried it with telekinesis whenever I had to run to a dungeon.

Benefit of detect life is that you can cast it while shopping. At lower level I always carry around some iron ore to transmute.

I used to do the transmute a lot, and bought all the ores I could find.
To be honest I don't think it's really worth the time and effort in regards to leveling up alteration.

I levled it with Transmute and piles of iron ore. Then put transmute in each hand and go at it. I would also suggest casting them seperate not together too, it kind of seems to move things along a little faster.

Detect life seems to be a pretty good way to level it up.

Just stand in Riften market place.

I always cast Candlelight. But near level 60 in a Dwemer dungeon I played with Telekinesis. Woah.... It increases after around 10 times of throwing items through the room. Try and you'll see. And it's funny. :biggrin:
