ive gone up a bunch of levels in enchanting and their not any stronger than they were is the only reason to do it to get the perks?

The higher the enchanting level, coupled with the corresponding perks gives more powerful enchantments.

Edit: if you're trying to skip using the perks, then that would be like leveling the one-handed skill and not allocating the perks in that tree. Your attacks are gonna svck.

Are you not putting perks into enchanting?

The higher your enchanting skill the more powerful the effect. But it is greatly increased by perks so if you are ignoring perks you won't see much of a difference. Also, don't forget the power is effected by the soul you are using.

I haven't checked (not good with the formulas either) but I would say that if you had one character with 25 skill in enchanting and a second character with skill 100 (with no perks for either character) if you used a petty soul you won't see a really big difference in an enchants effect. But if you used a grand soul the difference between character one and character two would be much more noticable.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, upping your skill & perks won't do anything about the enchantments already on your gear. Those are set when you make them.

Mr cinco seems to be the only one who understood I plan on getting a bunch of percs in it I just wasn't seeing a noticable enchancement difference with my new ones after about 7 levels now I've. Read the page and understand how everything works .
Basically I was just saying if the skill doesnt enhance enchantments then the only point would he getting the perks, I get it now tho.

Raising your skill from 0 to 100 will only increase enchant strength by 25%. In other words it's a little better than 1 perk. Invest in your perks ASAP.
