How does one remove a Master File dependency from a plugin f

I'm trying to remove a the update.esm dependency from a .esp file because I'm trying to convert said .esp file into a .esm via Version Control.

I found a way with tesVsnip which was basically removing some record or something. But I really didn't know what I was doing and tesVsnip has been rumored to be very glitchy so I don't know if thats a good idea. I tried googling this as well but no luck.

So: Anybody know how?

It looks like it changed, to CTRL-Delete... so open the esp like you normally would in the Data window, select it int he Plugin/Master Files list and it shows the Parent Masters on the right. CTRL-Delete the master you don't want.

Ah fantastic! Thank you!

Now to figure out why creation kit keeps crashing when I try and convert the plugin into a master file :(
