How does the slow from frost spells work?

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 9:58 am

Because sometimes, when i get hit with frost spells (ice spike for example) i don't get slowed much (or at all, there's no noticeable difference anyway). However other times when im hit, my movement speed is so darn slow i might as well not be moving at all.

Same with the frost spells i cast, most of the time the enemy doesn't seem to be slowed much, but at random times they're totally snailing along. Really snailing along.

I was under the impression the slow effect wasnt chance based. Anyway its baffling

When i use the Ice strom spell, i occasionaly see enemies struggling to run away. I've had it done to me too, only with the ice storm spell though i think. perhaps it's spell specific ?

Ive had that happen to me too. I even checked my Active Effects at the time and it said that nothing was wrong with me. Could only attempt to crawl along ineffectually as the mages unleashed lethal barrages of ice spikes at me.

Slow behaves weirdly in general - hit a guy with a slow poison and he doesn't break stride. Save and reload the game and suddenly he starts crawling; the effect doesn't seem to apply properly... a slowed dragon looks pretty hilarious, it crawls through the sky like a snail making it open-season for your ranged attacks

No, its the same; i send ice storms flying their way, and their bodies are "frosted", but they arent really moving slowly. And occasionally some enemies would be slowed to the point where they seemed to be running on the spot, after taking 1 frost spell.

LOL didnt know you could slow dragons :D hopefully i'll try that someday, though the "snail slow" effect rarely appears.

Maybe it depends on how quickly you deplete their stamina bar then, which then affects their speed.

I used some stamina draining potions on dragons a few times a long time ago, and if i recall correctly, after a few potions, it seemed they lost the ability to fly & stayed on the ground fighting. Unless it was just a bug.
