Can riekling be equiped with weapons and armor?

I've tried puting things on him but he won't use it.. But for some strange reason he picks up arrows and displays them his back.

I dunno..??

I'm xbox btw.

Anyway, it would appear that no, you can't equip them with items. If you give it to them and they don't use it, there's nothing you can do. Sorry. :/

Besides i've seen pictures of people with them fully equiped. Must have been a PC thing.

They can use greatswords, they still wield it like a spear. They will equip any armor given to them, but it doesn't display it on them. I'm also quite sure that they can use bows if given to them. Sirrockyqo, apparently, doesn't have a clue.

Found this thread via the forum search, and didn't want to open a new one.

I gave my Riekling a great sword and some armour to make him stronger and he equipped everything. Now though, he has suddenly reverted back to using his little spear instead, and upon checking his inventory I found that the things I gave him are no longer there.
Did the original Riekling die without me noticing and a new one take his place, or do their inventories simply reset when enough ingame time has passed? He's been with me for quite some time now, and when he's low on health, he usually just kneels on the ground recovering, before eventually rejoining the battle.

I know that I didn't speak to the wrong Riekling, because only the one who is currently following me has the dialogue option that allows me to give him items in the first place, so I'm a little confused.

They will use any greatsword and I have yet to see my little reik use any of the bows I've given him.

For the armor, they will only ever 'equip' light armor, although it will never show onto the unit model.

LOLOLOLOLOLOL, when I saw this, I immediately thought of your character... equipping a riekling!! All I could see in my head was a character walking around with a riekling strapped to his back, feet up, head down, and when reaching for the riekling, the character would grab a hold of it's ankles and swing it around like a warhammer. Teeth first.

Mine had heavy armour equipped, before the armour disappeared. Might depend on what type of Riekling it is though.

I promise that there are rieklings that will equip bow and arrows. They just throw the arrows though, the bow just sits on their back.

Nice. To be fair, I too misunderstood the subject by the title. I thought this would be about using their spears.

That sounds expensive and time consuming.

And unnecessary, considering they can be equipped as they are now.

Well, a second set of armour has disappeared after I gave it to my Riekling. I gave him something cheap this time, just to see if it would vanish again, and it did. So it might not be save to give them things at all, eventhough they'll indeed use the weapon/armour initially.

I had the same problem with armor going missing.

Your follower rieklings will equip them also, if given to them. Guarenteed.
