How Exactly Do I purchase Windhelm ?

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 6:08 pm

I completed Blood on the Ice and Rise in the East

I then retrieved a sword for the black smith delivered death root extract to the court wizard beat up some guy harrassing the dunmer (and still continues to do so... considering assassinating him) and infilterated and erased a group of bandits for the ship captain on the docks

so who do I talk to about purchasing Windhelm or are there some quest left i need to do ?

Hjerim you mean ? if so you must meet the requirement in civil war and get enough trust then it will become available.

1. No.
2. Yes.

As for archery - Steady Hand perk is your friend.

the perk that slows time ? everything just moves in slow motion including the arrow so if i miss its not due to the people moving fast its due to me not aiming properly + i tried the slow time perk missed 12 times in a row trying hit slow moving target from distance vs the three times with out it (still reloaded save after doesnt like to miss that much due to no arrow clean up)

If you join the Storkcloak side, you only have to start the Civil war line to buy Hjerim.

If you join the Imperials, you have to win the war to buy Hjerim.

Correct me if I'm wrong. My memory about this is rather fuzzy.

Then I don't know. I guess you just have no talent for archery. But do you really need to use it? If it's only dragons, you could:
1) Not fight them - run away? A problem in the cities, but not in the wilderness.
2) Take an archer or mage follower.
3) Proceed to the part of MQ when you get a certain shout which would solve your problem.

You have to complete Rescue from Fort Neugrad. To get there you need to start the MQ, and this is what the OP wants to avoid.

Don't bother trying to hit a dragon unless its hovering or it landed. Outside of lighting spells hitting a dragon as its flying around is next to impossible.

Ah but if it was available for stormcloaks before the battle of whiterun then he could avoid the MQ but abacus is mistaken so the OP is boned.

Yep.. that's correct. I've finished it on both sides. You can purchase Hjerim about half way through on the Stormcloak faction, or after the defeat of Windhelm and the new Jarl is placed on the throne for the Imperials.

Edit: IF.... your pre-requisites are done
