~How to fix your Followers *for console players*~

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 10:42 pm

First, you need the Wabbajack which you obtain from completing the quest Mind of Madness: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:The_Mind_of_Madness
Once you have it, take the follower you wish to fix to a secluded place, save *since it takes a few trys for the right effect to happen*, then Dismiss your follower, then use the Wabbajack on them until they transform into something, once they do, hit them and they will respawn with their new updated level/stats/skills. Depending on your level, they will either be at the same level as you or at their max. The list of Followers and their lvls can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0Aly8njaU3H1adGJYTlJaUnRxRUN2RnM5MkxPaU1mQkE&type=view&gid=0&f=true&sortcolid=-1&sortasc=true&rowsperpage=250

Thanks to bobjim123 for finding this out!

Hopefully it works for you! I tested it earlier on J'zargo, i hit him with an Ice Spike before and after. Before i did this, it would take off 60% of his health, after, it barely took off 1/30 of his health

This is awesome if it works... as alas... I already lost poor Lydia a long time ago.

Now... if you come up with the book or fix that keep your hired/follower from pushing you slightly as they catch up... that would be awesome... or keep them from attacking when you initiate a ranged attack.
Can't tell how many times I would be sneaking up ... and getting into position and they slightly push or move me out of it... or sneaking a ranged attack on something and then suddenly hear the cry of my follower as they rush in and garner an entire mob.

I would make a Youtube of it working, but alas i am stuck on Xrapbox with no way to record it ._.

It does work though, I tested it with a few other followers and they all updated in strength, defence and their health ect all raised up, now Faendal doesnt die in 2 hits, it takes about 10/20 hits now

Edit: Someone made a youtube vid about it... It's kinda lengthy and lots of talking though... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gJdkajr2sM

I would try it since I just got the wabbajack but my character's only level 14 and I don't think it would do anything.

Havent tried, player enemys usually scale to your lvl/reach their max ect, unless your gonna thrall a Follower, then i would say do this before you kill them/Thrall them.

Mhm =p bobjim123 posted about this, but tbh i dont have a clue who found it out first, the other thread was moved to the land of no return when it should have stayed here or been stickied or something, since many people have a problem with the followers not scaling ect... Just reposting so people know about it, i couldnt find info about it on the UESP so i added it to the Wabbajack section last night =s

P.S: Cookies for everyone!

As long as you do it before you kill him and make him your Thrall, then it should xD

It works guy ....its been going around for a while now ....right now my lydia (im in love with her) is a tank.....literally...im currently on level 50 and she did not last a blow in most battles after i wabbjacked her she became a monster of power...she currently use the daedric hammer of inferno that burns target 37 pts ....guantlets, necklist and ring fortifying two handed by 21% each ..and i have to tell u that she can handle by herself a drgr deadlord and three other drgur at a time and i dont have to throw a blow.....go ahead and try it ..u wil know if it works if after she turns back to normal from (chicken, bonny or whatever she turns into) she is wearing her initial armor ....that will let u know it worked...

Glad I figured this out ha. To the guy above, I believe dead thralls level naturally as you level, like enemies do, so you don't need to do this.

I've heard that it works from enough people to believe it, but will it be 'fixed' with 1.4? <_<

I wonder, if you do this to Lydia, might it respawn her with the correct faction that can be married? If we assume only her basic levels are the ones with faction issues
