How Freaky is Dead Money?

Between the ghost people, holograms, creepy abandoned poisoned casino, and killer radio signals, the DLC to me sounds pretty nerve-shattering.

It doesn't have any "I just [censored] my pants" moments but the atmosphere is pretty stressful. The Cloud and speakers help keep one on edge. So it's not that easy to go into a half-asleep mode and keep playing like a zombie.

I got lots of shock treatment from the ghosts and Dog popping up behind me once in a while.

the only part that was freaky for me was seeing the ghost people for the 1st time.. OMG! then you kill them really quickly, cuz ur like holy [censored], then u wanna search them cuz ur interested, then, as you read the bottom of the screen, "ghost thingy is knocked out" HE WAKES UP! WDF!!??! then u hear father elija (or in my case, ur tv is on mute) then u understand what happened... yeah..... literally [censored] my pants.

You certainly had to think while playing Dead Money, I liked it.
It creeps me out when you are walking around and you hear the noises the Ghost People make... -shudders-

Pretty much this^^, although if you are rushing things a bit you will get scared out of your chair when a Ghost Person jumps down from a second-floor balcony (of which they are many) and uses one of those Gas Bombs at point-blank range while shrieking at you. :shocking:

I enjoy it. First play through made me frustrated but I was playing it at 2 in the morning with no sleep in 24 hours. Its freaky but I wish they went more into the story behind the ghost people as well as the all the people that were there when the bombs fell.

Haha, yeah, i also pulled an all nighter when it came out on PC. I was gambling at 4 in the morning and i got a pretty scary nose bleed... stopped pulling all nighters after that.
Spoiler

I think the ghost people are more or less explained if you read all the terminals. They seem to be former staff and perhaps guests, trapped in their corroded protective suits and conserved by the cloud(?)

I don't really get how the cloud messes up the locks on those suits but preserves other stuff at the same time, but that's what the game says.
Maybe Elijah meant conservation in the sense that it kept prospectors away from the tech?

Did the casino remind anyone else of the Hotel in The Shining?

The whole idea of the huge Gala grand opening that should have been, the holograms as the ghosts and illusions... I got a huge the Shining vibe from it all, which made it so much cooler IMO.
