You dont need to glitch and you dont need a stealth boy as long as you have your sneak skill up to 50. This is an easy number to reach especially with the Assassin Suit (+10 sneak) and the magazine, ?La Fantoma! (+10 sneak) which you can find plenty of copies in Dead Money.

Ok so first collect all 37 Gold Bars in the vault (might be a good idea to save the game), then speak to Elijah and get him to come to you (you shouldnt need instruction for that part). After he says he's coming down quickly turn around and leave the vault and go straight untill you reach the hallway part (or whatever) and then head for the exit where Elijah came in at. Keep walking through the hallway untill you see some crates on your left, NOW CROUCH (Elijah is already in there with you at this point) and keep moving and then turn right.

Keep going untill you reach the other hallway part (where Elijah came from), then turn right and keep going untill you come to the the second door on the left which is the door Elijah came in from. This is the exit so open the door and leave. Once you leave, your objective marker will say you trapped Elijah in the Sierra Madre vault forever, so you can stand up now and just leave. Now you're the richest man or woman in New Vegas.

I''ve read a lot of posts on this subject, and I never understand at how its a glitch, getting all the bars. Using a stealth boy isn't a glitch. I never tried sneaking out without the stealth boy though, I was lucky enough to find one on my adventures in the Sierra Madre. Insanely annoying adventures at that. You also need 75 speech to convince Elijah to come down to the vault too. Even with the 37 gold bars, I was very disappointed with the overall loot can you bring back to the Mojave. Honest Hearts had way better armor/apperal and guns.

75 Explosives, Science, or Repair will also work.

Its possible to drop the gold bars so they pass through the force field. That method is refered to as the glitch. And it was the first method used.
As to the loot.
The automatic rifle is still a beast.
The holorifle fully upgraded is highly damaging, ammo efficent has a scope, never degrades using normal ammo.(or maxed charged if Raul is with you).
The reinforced security armor has the highest DT of any light armor in the game.

Assuming you got the voucher in the casino, you'll get 1,100 chips every 3 days. That's a lot of steady and weapon repair kits.

And the virtually unlimited weapon repair kits is also worth mentioning. Everybody needs those.

So did you have to get that voucher in Sierra Madre? I didn't get enough chips there. I'm stocking up on cartons and packs of ciggerettes though to turn in at the bos bunker at somepoint. Can get more chips that way. I have jury rigging perk, so weapon repair kits aren't needed. Not for regular guns anyways, I could see them being useful for energy weapons though.

Just gamble at the Seirra Madre Casino after you turn on the power and you'll get plenty of chips. Play Blackjack untill you reach 7,000 chips and then jump on a slot machine and you could hit the jackpot if you have a high enough Luck. This is also the best strategy for New Vegas Casinos. My Luck is at 10 so I always hit the jackpot. I got over 20,000 chips, but now it's up to 26,000 with all the vouchers I've been collecting every 3 days.

I usually play blackjack till I get banned cash the chips in for pre war dollars then exchange maybe 2000 back for chips leaving me with around 7000 pre war dollars to take back to vegas which at the exchange rate of 6 caps per dollar gives me 42.000 caps add that to 3 gold bars I walk out of dead money with over 60.000 caps the armour,guns and not overloaded my luck is normally at 8.

I don't see the point in taking all those chips back when you get 1100 every three days I prefer the money

That's probobly the right decision but I got 32 gold bars so that's 320,000 caps. No big deal either way to me. :disguise:

Escaping with all 37 is just a matter of timing. You gotta get close to the exit without getting TOO close, then make a break for it while he's busy with the terminal.

Yea, I was affraid it would be difficult for people to understand. You got most of it right except the hallway part you enter first also goes toward the northern direction. It wraps around the structure and then there's an opening towards the end in which you turn right and head for the other hallway part.
