How to get Fallout 3 Enclave Power Armor in Fallout: New Veg

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 10:43 am

So I was looking around in the GECK and found files for Fallout 3 Enclave Power Armor and Tesla Armor, and it turns out you can get them ingame with console commands! Video guide http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlGPZbKRS8g for anyone who's interested. You can't find them ingame anywhere, but they work fine with the console command.

I've read through the wikia and noticed alot of Fallout 3 quest items in the geck list as well, I wonder why so much stuff that could be of no use (IE Donavans wrench) are left in the game files.

It's a mystery to me, as well. I'm not complaining in this case, though; the Tesla Armor especially is great to have as it's just so good-looking. :)

Maybe they indiscriminately ported some assets?

Love the enclave power armor. Awesome that they put it in the game files.
Now I wonder if you can find the Enclave hell-fire armor in the game as well as the Winterized T-51b
Oh and the Outcast Power armor.
Those would all be totally awesome... hmmm maybe its time for me to attempt the GECK for the first time and see if i can dig up anything

Oh I'm not either (Im on PS3), but it always fascinates me to see whats underneath the games skin. "What kind of effect causes this?" or maybe "What are all the little items names in the GECK?" I enjoy seeing the things ingame.

I haven't been able to find them yet, unfortunately. FOOK adds in some of those armors, though; they added in the Outcast T-45b.

It's amazing how much stuff is in the GECK and game files that isn't anywhere in the final game.

Some of it seems to be only in there to confuse modders, lol. I made a http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37672 and my homemade frag grenade used legion money, like the coin shot shells. When I tried to make them in game it told me I didn't have any coins even though I had hundreds.

I loaded the geck back up and saw that the legion denarius had 2 entries in the geck, both were pretty much identical except one was used and the other wasn't. The first was called "LegionMoney1" and the other called "MoneyLegion1". I of course had used the wrong one. :P

How weird is it, just before I clicked this, I was going to say 'You should make a teddy bear grenade' and the FIRST pic I see is a teddybear grenade

Good point. We might be able to get some old Fallout 3 stuff in future DLCs but they didn't want to add in the content later and be worried about incompatibility (XXitem code etc) and just added the items in early to minimize risks.

If i am not allowed to post this, i apologize and will remove if necessary.

Edit: This is probably why you are all seeing items from Fallout 3 In the GECK and game files.

Are there FO3 items not in the New Vegas files? I mean could you pretty much add any item or does it look like they made an effort to remove some specific items and leave others?

The CSS IS in the game, they simply removed the permanent stealth script that the F3:OA version has.

No, the meshes and textures for these armors aren't included in the data files.

Oh and the Outcast Power armor.

The textures for this armor are included in the data files, but the armor itself is not in the game.
