How do I get a refund?

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 3:53 am

Ok so I bought this at launch in some kind of loyal move to support PC gaming. Didn't get to play it for long as my gun/arm kept disappearing, also my Pipboy was invisible at random times.

Here we are nearly 6 months on, and last night I thought there's been a raft of patches released I'll give it another go. Updated all my drivers and settled down to start a new game - same fecking problems, but this time it even crashes to the desktop every now and then. Piss poor....

In the UK this game classifies as not being fit for purpose so under retail law I'm entitled to a refund. Anyone else taken this game back yet?

Ask a refund for your PC then, because I think it's your PC that is not being fit for purpose.
I have played 100+ hours and got only 5 or 6 crashes in total.

Many people have bad assembled / configured PCs.
For example, what's your graphic card?

That's just a load of crap. Just because it doesn't crash on your PC is in no way an indication that there are not major flaws in the game engine that cause constant crashes for some people. Just a quick look at the xbox/ps3 forums will prove that. How can a lot of them get repeated crashes when the hardware is consistent, and they don't have issues with codecs like people claim for PC users? The issues have been around for a lot of people since at least Oblivion so get your head out of the sand.

If you want a refund take it back to where you bought it and raise hell until they get tired of your ranting and give your money back just to shut you up. Works best when the store has a lot of customers obviously. You can also try reporting the game to the Better Business Bureau if you are serious about your complaints. Even though most software is sold as is, you still have rights which vary from location to location. Unfortunately unless you are an attorney it will likely cost you a great deal of money to actually get your money back if the above doesn't work.

So, why don't you post which graphic card do you use, the version number of your drivers, etc. etc.
