Great... wtf did they ever think someone would download them and not want them or want other mods. Thanks Bethesda for ruining my game.

Nope, you can't. It's because it's registered as DLC. DLC works like a game update. Only way is to go offline and delete the files. And stay offline. And repeat each time.

well if you don't want them.. you just uncheck..

otherwise they are part of the game as an aditional option.. and considering how small the game is.... i don't see how it's problematic..

would anyone complain about it if they had made the packages available as part of the normal installation of the game?

with them disabled.. the game doesn't load them at all so no load times differences.

Exactly what I was thinking. It works just like it would if it was built in to the launcher, just that we have to activate them in a different screen.

can't you just move the BSA's and ESP's outside of the data folder?

That's what I did, and I haven't had any problems, granted I only played for 5 minutes after trying this.

Wrong, this doesn't work... I removed them from my load order by disabling them and re-installed some of my texture mods and they were still being over-ridden... Plus if I am not going to use them I want my wasted 3gigs back... Thanks but no thanks Bethesda... Yes nice to have official HD textures, not nice to have them completely overwrite and override any and all conflicting texture mods regardless of load order or if they are even enabled/disabled in the load order... Seriously

Do the old trick instead: Google Filedate.exe, download it and change your textures "modified" date to a later date than anything officially released. Should do the trick just fine.

Also, if you had installed your mods with SkyrimNexus mod manager, I don't think you'd have the overriding issues you're talking about. That utility has a built-in archive invalidation process.
