How to get smithing to 90 fast? I'm on 17 now.

I know that before the 1.5 patch you could just spam iron daggers to train it quickly, but the thing is i didn't start to play Skyrim excessively until after that very patch. :P

Well the smithing skill increases now focus not so much on the quantity of the stuff you've smithed but more quality. Ie Dwarven is a bigger increase than iron and Elven is greater than Dwarven etc Now obviously you hit the question "how do I get those smithing increases if I need to level up to get to them" then you hit value, ie iron armour is worth more than an iron dagger and thus you get a bigger increase. I think that's how it works now anyway. So the best idea is to create more expensive items and not to spam iron daggers.

If you are on a PC, there may be some mods that made changes to smithing prior to the 1.5 patch, the changes made smithing level up annoyingly fast with 1.5. Makng better gear does work, and Steel Plate can be sold back to a Blacksmith for more than the cost of the supplies used to make the Armor cost to purchase.
Bows tend to require less variety of supplies to make, leather is a great starting point.

Try just playing the game, level your skills naturally.

Assuming u are doing all 3 crafting skills after i had alchemy pretty high i had more money then i knew what to do with after reselling the potions... so i ended up literally buying all the ore the blacksmiths had in a town, make everything i could there, sell it back to the guy and go to the next town

If u dont have that much money yet, do the same thing, but before u sell it back to them go enchant it

there isnt really a "quick way" anymore, it used to be u could just buy all the iron ore and make daggers all day and it would give u the same xp as making dragon bone armor, but now the amount u get xpwise is related to how much the item u make costs... so buy the most expensive ore u can craft with and craft... a lot

If you're into power leveling, then look into creating items that yield a good raw item cost (in terms of gold cost and quantity of raw items required) to end product value ratio... for low levels, I think it was deduced that Leather Braces was the best choice when your smithing is low. Then as you level up, work your way up into creating more powerful equipment. I think next up in the tier would be Dwarven stuff since there's a crapload of raw Dwarven materials that can be acquired for little effort, and are able to produce high-value items (higher value = http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1385082-how-to-get-smithing-to-90-fast-im-on-17-now/higher EXP gain).

Maybe someone else can elaborate on this further.

(And for the record, I don't do power gaming... I "just play". Really, really slow... :D)

Don't sell any of the gemstones you run across in your adventures (diamonds, emeralds, rubies, etc) keep them all and then when you have a good stash of them, go mine silver and gold (there are a few good mines in the Reach). Now you are all set the smith expensive jewelry.

This should raise you pretty quickly.

Do the 'unfathomable depths' quest and your smithing will increase 15 % faster. Get the warrior stone too for another 20 %. Then get a house and get married. While you are married and sleeping in your own bed, you'll benefit from another 20 % rested bonus, granted you are not a werewolf.

And keep a pickaxe ready ;-). Good luck.

Hmm, alteration skill need to be 50 to be able to get that spell. :( And magic is no go for this character. :o

No. It's one of the spells that you can't buy, but have to find. There's one in Ansilvund and one in Halted Steam Camp.

(Also, it you had to buy that spell, the skill requirement would be 40, not 50.)
