How do i get the second patch?

Post » Tue Feb 15, 2011 6:13 am

well i tried everything, the d3d9.dll, changing the .ini settings, the first update didnt do a damn thing, ive spent 3 days trouble shooting, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, trying old drivers, wasting my time over a 60 dollar unplayable game. while something may have helped some areas of the game other areas are still uncomplete and unplayable. Im already pretty much over new vegas, but i figure before i sell it i want to give this 2nd patch a shot, ive heard of it but cant find it any where and steam never auto updated again after the first patch. can any one help?

Steam should always update automatically, unless you start Steam in offline mode of course, or have told New Vegas specifically not to download updates.

but if you install fallout new vegas you use fallout new vegas key to add it to steam and the disc becomes redundant the only way to sell a used fallout new vegas is to sell your steam account illegally :P its one of the many perks of buying a game that needs steam to use not being able to resell it

btw whats Johnny McJohnJohn? names peteed1985 >_>

You can try your best to refund it, but I doubt it's going to happen. Most places don't accept PC games back, hard copy or otherwise, because of how easy it is to copy/pirate PC games these days. Or even if they do, you're not going to be getting your full money's worth.

You'd be better off selling it on Ebay, which I really wish you luck with that.

Anyways, have you tried reinstalling or checking the integrity of your game cache using Steam? That seems to fix most issues.

I think your in luck, steam will accept a returned hard copy within 30 days of purchase. However downloads = no refund, even if the game is completely unfunctional. It's in section 4 of the user agreement. So they can take your cash and not worry about it. If you use your bank to get the money back ( and you will ) they threaten to terminate your steam account, what that does i don't know but if you have loads of steam games it has the potential to render £1000's of software unusable. Thats the way i read it, i could be wrong.
